Does this brace seem to help with MS patience with issues with balance like myself??

Would any of your braces work for both drop foot AND inversion of the ankle/foot? This is exactly what I need to resolve. I have a brace that does it, but am looking for a less bulky, more lightweight way to do this. I wonder if the "Ritchie Brace" would work for me and how would that compare to your DBS brace? Thanks! Also, I am trying to get one to fit in my Ariat western boot (slip-on style, not lace-up). I had a bootmaker put a big zipper down the inside of my left boot to fit the brace in, but the brace is still too bulky to get past half way in. Would drop foot be affected if the length of the brace base was shortened to just before the ball of the foot if padded enough to be comfortable to wear? Thanks!

These are DBS braces (Dynamic Bracing Solutions). The doctor is Marmaduke. I have CMT and am getting ready to schedule an appoint with him after my parent finishes jury duty! I have CMT. I spent months doing research on different braces and all time has pushed me towards DBS being the best. Guess well see soon! Ball park estimate for me was $17,000.

You take her our of a "conventional brace" (there is no such thing as a conventional brace) which is essentially an articulating AFO and put her in a solid ankle AFO: with modern technology that allows for lighter weight and trim lines for less bulk. 10 and 20 years ago I was having similar success with using a solid ankle AFO made from polypropylene. With new technologies the concept remains the same but with lighter weight smaller trim lines. Good for you but really this is just the proper biomechanics for this woman's disability. The person who made/designed and fitted the articulating AFO did not understand this women needed the stability of a solid AFO. It is too bad our field uses articulating AFOs and considers it a "conventional" AFO. In my 37 years in the field I replace hundreds of "articulating" AFOs with solid ankle AFOs and had similar results you present here.

Please someone tell me how to get one of these for my 10 yr old niece?! Please?! It's worth a try! She had cancer twice and it's too much to explain but the nerves in her right foot and leg are dead! She hasn't walked in a long time! They say she'll never walk without a brace. She hates her brace. Who could we talk to about checking one of these out so she can at least try it?! Anyone? Thanks!
