Every of them are real, some few of them aren't. Some notable DW characters that are either fictional or lacking historical sources but appear in DW anyway: - Huang Yueying (Shu) - Guan Suo (Shu) - Bao Sanniang (Shu) - Diao Chan (Other) - Zhu Rong (Other)

Anyway: Meng Huo was real, but he wasn't exactly a barbarian. Zhurong wasn't. The Qiao sisters were also real, and they were wives of Sun Ce and Zhou Yu, but it's unknown whether their names really were Qiao Da and Qiao Xiao. Lü Lingqi is not exactly fictional. Lü Bu did have a daughter whom he was about to marry her to Yuan Shu's son, but it was also unknown whether her name was Lü Lingqi or not. Diao Chan is purely fictional who was just there so that Lü Bu agreed to conspire with Wang Yun, Diao Chan's adopted father as the novel says, to kill Dong Zhuo. She's also not the female servant of Dong Zhuo whom Lü Bu had affair with either. Her role is just so Lü Bu would kill Dong Zhuo, which is why you don't see her that much after Dong Zhuo's death. Zuo Ci was surprisingly a historical real figure, though not much is really known about him. And ironically, he was one of Cao Cao's men. Guan Suo and Bao Sanniang are completely fictional who appeared only in the novel or fictional works. Zhuge Liang was known to have a wife since he had a son, named Zhuge Zhan. But it was unknown whether his wife's name really was Huang Yueying or not.
