I bet it's a fake one (based on price I paid), but at least I will be protected by eBay and be able to return it. Please keep this video posted. People need to see it. I would have never thought about "counterfeit" hairdryers! Fake handbags I know are common. But hairdryers? Why would I have ever been on guard about that?

I’ve never seen a counterfeit until this video, I have a real one and noticed immediately how much less heftier and thinner your cord is to mine. Real Dyson cords are super heavy and long...yours was so tiny rolled up like that when mine looks like it belongs to a vacuum cleaner lol!

I buy mostly everything online with debit and not credit b/c it helps me to not overspend. Like you said, shelling out $400 is quite literally 1/3 of my bills, but $250 can be done (but still hurtssssssssss my pockets!). The article on counterfeit Dysons along with your video shows me that, without a doubt, if I want a Dyson I have to get it from Dyson. So this means no Dyson for me.... and I'm OK with that. I don't NEED it, just wanted it. Again, thank you.

I ordered one from ebay and it felt lighter in weight than the original one and as you said it doesn't have the rectangular piece in middle of the cord which made me suspicious about it. Thank you so much for the video.

I talked to dyson and they told me there are 2 models of this hairdryer. One with a standard plug and another with the plug with yellow and red buttons. Just throwing it out there. The tell is the circle on the power button. I purchased a fake and brought it in. They showed me the difference then and there. The power lights on the head of the unit when the power is turned on are also much brighter in the real unit. But the cord isn’t

You never know it might work just as good if not better than the real one. Still looks cool tho.

The type of plug depends on the country, in Malaysia and Philippines for example you get the same plug like that one and there’s no AC noise filter thing (the rectangular box) attached to the cord. I bought my Dyson Supersonic from an official store and they said it really does depend on the country due to regulatory stuff. Nevertheless I can tell that the unit you showed here really is fake the moment I saw it. The sound is also very different.

Great video and also the cords on the fakes are smaller than the real Dyson cord from what I've seen, the filters are also slightly different.

Is really common in some brands as Dyson, remingtone or Babyliss to have fake versions. I have the Karmin dryer and is very good. Also, they don't have fake versions

The power regulator in Dyson even original one, for other countries like UK and China does not have it. So that point use to identify fake or not is INVALID. it depend on which countries your product are made for, as different country have different electricity ratings.

Did u managed to successfully register the warranty for this fake unit? I read online even counterfeits can register successfully for a warranty. And Dyson said it’s impossible to definitely confirm if a unit is authentic without actually testing it live. Since high quality counterfeits actually takes real unused Dyson turbines but just reassembles them, so they sound the very alike.

I just want to comment, you can write the seller and eBay, about the counterfeit, and that they used the USPS, which is a crime to use US postal system for counterfeit items, and they will return your money...and if you bought through your credit card, they will reimburse, because it's counterfeit, and you can actually keep it, because you can't use USPS, being counterfeit, to mail it back. I know this, because it happened to me with an expensive perfume. I wrote eBay and the seller....the seller immediately reimbursed me. Hope this helps.😊
