My exact issue. Obviously you’re correct that it’s a common failure. Thank you.

I bought one of these vacuums second hand and told that it worked. I have tried everything and watched countless videos. While I have removed a lot of dirt finally found that but was the undercarriage and the valve not opening. You solved the problem. Now if this retired woman can fix it! Thank you

I took the whole damn thing apart to find this rotating valve’s missing control arm was the issue. Fingers crossed that I can reassemble from my documentation lol!

Is it possible to buy this replacement part?

I have the same exact problem... Has the part that you glued with epoxy stayed put in place? In other words, still working?

Did you epoxy the nylon barb to the gray plastic part , where the piece broke off? or did you epoxy the nylon barb to the gray plastic part AND the clear rotating plastic part? After looking at mine, it looks like your fix would push the clear plastic part forward, but rotate it back.

do not glue the clear rotating part; it must rotate freely

I’m an original owner of this model. After about 10 years I had this issue, I rummaged around and found a plastic piece that would work, but I used super glue and baking soda to secure the makeshift arm. Been working for two years and counting. I do have another vacuum in case this unit bites the big one, but it has always been my favorite. Would love to get a Dyson Ball animal 3, but I’m retired in a Biden inflation era, can’t afford $300… Cheers!

obviously your not familiar with what's going on around the world, or politics cause Biden is the only thing keeping you from selling apples on the street had that lying buffoon trump been reelected.
