Nice review. I am 65, in fairly good shape and really wanted nimbleness, performance and freedom from cords. I also “suffer” from “fear-of-not-getting-the-most-and-best-features-itis “. I also 2 dogs, a 3,000 sf house. I use rechargeable cordless power tools with multiple interchangeable batteries and wanted a cordless stick vacuum with this feature. That said, the Outsize was just too expensive, I don’t have money to burn right now and opted for the V11 Animal. I love it! It is very nimble; and since it is not a big deal to just whip out and quickly do a room with little hassle. I have never had to run it at maximum power and have never run down the battery. It is relatively quiet and you can easily listen to music on earbuds while running it. It has changed the way I vacuum, making it easy and almost fun to just pull out and spend 30 minutes on 3 rooms one night and then doing 4 more 2 nights later. You can do your kitchen every night, getting spilled crumbs off the floor and not feel like a drudge. I finally found a store with a floor model Outsize about 3 weeks after purchasing my V11 Animal. I did think it felt heavier than what I’d prefer and -all other things being equal --I don’t think I’d prefer the wider head. The LED battery level read-out sounded like a great feature but I really don’t miss not having it. I have no regrets having purchased the Animal

Thank you, very helpful! I was deciding between V11 torque vs. Outsize. For my small apartment I think I will appreciate the maneuverability and smaller size of the V11 torque. Best of all I have some great discounts if I buy it from Target! This will be my first Dyson. Currently I have a Hoover Linx cordless vacuum that works perfectly fine but I like that the Dyson can be handheld and all the many attachments it comes with. My mom will get my Linx, I think she will really appreciate her first cordless vacuum!

Just wanted to give you a quick shout out. Was partially on the fence about upgrading from our old V6, the battery was starting to go but it still worked, it just sucked (sucked less?) a bit lately. Pulled the trigger on a Canadian version of the Torque (Absolute). What the hell. That's the most powerful vacuum I have ever used. I'm not even sure how to handle the area rugs, it's picking them up off the floor. Pulled out a FULL CANISTER from a 6x8 rug, after vacuuming it yesterday with ole faithful.

I love how well you test vacuums. I watched the video on why you shouldn't buy cheap vacuums and was intrigued with the ISO 12103-1, A2 fine dust you use. Lately I have been seeing a lot of videos about home made COVID-19 protections and I was wondering if you can do a mythbuster video on home made masks. There are a lot of people on the internet recommending using dried baby wipes, bandanas, 600 thread count fabric, 1000 thread count fabric, cotton balls, and other household materials. It would be great if someone took the time to prove/debunk these and you seem perfectly qualified to do so.

FYI, all V11’s have removable batteries now. They re-did the v11 animal and torque drive so now all v11’s have removable batteries. Also the v11 torque drive now pulse 3 times to let you know when your battery is running low, along with a screen notification.

All dyson says on their site is the v11 animal has the same click in battery as the outsize now, which I can confirm because I just ordered it and didn’t realize that it had this upgrade until after purchase. I believe the Torque drive might not have it yet or at all.

It seems that Dyson should offer a powered extension hose so that the small powered head can be used more easily in small spaces such as couches and the interior of cars.

I posted this on your other video that was taken down. Could you do a comparison of "off brand" HEPA filters? I'm sure you know you can buy a HEPA filter from dyson, shark, etc for a premium but if you go on Amazon you can find aftermarket companies selling filters for sometimes 1/5 of the cost. Will these filters still keep the same filtration as the manufacture branded HEPA filters?

FosterParnell I’m sorry but in what world is it even worth getting an off brand filter? In Australia they sell genuine ones for $25 ($15.99 US equivalent) including tax and express shipping. Assuming that pricing is similar in the US and that they don’t rip you off there, that seems cheap enough to warrant ignoring off brands

The reason why they did not make the v11 outsize the v12 is Becasue the v11 outsize is for bigger homes, and larger spaces to clean, rather then the older vaccums. So in hindsight people would not be happy if they only offered the v11 outsize as the v12, becasue its designed for bigger homes and would be bulky in a smaller home.

as well as they need to get rid of current non click-in V11 units without alarming customer who bought them and may want to return them for the click-in model. They are not advertising the click-in feature at all on the package of the click-in V11 at all unless it comes with two batteries.

I’m in the US, I just ordered the v11 animal directly from dyson’s website and mine has the click-in battery! I didn’t even notice until after I purchased because it’s the only one offered. But I’m pretty happy about it and I think I may order a second battery so I can have it handy in case the initial battery goes bad. I’ll wait to see if the replacement batteries get any cheaper but I doubt it if they might keep using this model if battery for a while

I just got my V11 Absolute Pro (Im from Germany) and I will return it. It’s way to heavy (after 3-5 min I have to stop cleaning) and it can’t stand on its own. So I decided to go with the Miele Triplex HX1 Cat and Dog. This one also includes some LEDs, and detects carpet just like the Dyson. Maybe it hasn’t the same power as the Dyson at Max, but for every day use it’s enough and more. So everyone thinking of buying the V11, think about That again :)

Dyson's wall mounts are vertical wall mounts only, though there are lots of third party stands and other mounts for Dyson cordless vacs out there.

I really think the outsize should have 3 or 4 gates on the front to stop the snowplow issue. It seems the standard size has enough suction to get stuff through the gates but the outsize requires more maneuvering to get stuff through.

OMG I tested the Dyson outsize at Best Buy and I LOVE IT SO MUCH!! It works so much better than my shark cordless or even a shark upright corded! They had a shark navigator lift away deluxe as an open box vacuum and I plugged it in and put them next to each other and turned them on and the Dyson sucked down to the carpet on eco mode while the shark just glided but I think that I would rather have the outsize since it actually felt powerful

Dyson now offers a Hard wood floor cleaning kit. It is not the same as the soft roller hard wood floor attachment in other models. I discovered this when I put the Dyson V11 Torque in the basket. Its one of the free accessory options you get when buying from their website. Be interested in a review of the hard wood floor kit! (I didn’t through with the purchase, still thinking about it). If the kit worked well on hard wood floors it could seal the deal for me.

Costco Canada is currently selling the V11 Total Clean model with one click-in battery now. The red release button shows up in the photo of the package but nowhere on the package has any mention of the click-in battery feature. Looks like Dyson may be to quietly fading in the click-in battery on V11 units for single battery packages once the current original non-interchangeable unit is sold out so the customers will not be aware of the new click-in model. Dyson Canada is currently offering free soft roller on the non click-in V11 Torque Drive and all V10 model except the Absolute which already comes with the soft roller. At Dyson Canada website clicking on "Support", "Troubleshooting", "Sticks" and Dyson V11 vacuums with click-in battery", four click-in battery models will shows up: Absolute+ (soft roller & dock), Torque Drive (current Torque Drive replacement), Torque Drive Pro (two batteries) and Total Clean (extra tools). Most of the time the non click-in V11 provide more than enough battery runtime for a 2200 sq ft home so the click-in feature is only to make the replacing process easier once the original one is no longer functioning. On Amazon there is a lot of reasonable priced 3rd party non click-in V11 battery replacement available and I suspect same will happen for the click-in battery soon. I would like to see Dyson offer the Extra Wide Torque Head with the new click-in standard size V11 in the near future or as a accessory option as it will provide shorter cleaning time and easier access to remove the roller (unless they update the current Torque Head).

True. I just got a V11 Torque and I love it. Such a huge upgrade from my previous cordless vac in terms of its cleaning power. The new interchangeable batteries feature is a great upgrade on the OUTSIZE but in all honestly I consider my current V11 on the bulkier n heavier side already😅

I just bought the v11 outsize, should be called outcast. Typical we get ripped off in Australia because we only get 1 battery.. Not good enough Mr Dyson. Anyhow overall its good, we vacuum the floors every day with a 25v Bissell and once a week (Thursdays) with a 240v hoover. The Bissell is showing its age and I have had to do several repairs on it. The hoover is about 6 month old and I really don't like it. Hence the dyson at Au$1399 wow it's expensive, today I gave it its first run just on the tile & wood floors and a little carpet area. I was shocked on how much was in the waist canister.. Unreal so apart only one battery I'm very pleased..

Can you please do comparison (or review) of Xiaomi YOUPIN MIJIA Shunzao Z11 PRO? This one looks very similar to Dyson V11, has replacement battery and not so overpriced as Dyson.

I have the V11 torque. What a vacuum... the Outsize is little too expensive for what it provides. With regular vacuuming, the torque canister will hold stuff from about 800 sq ft of carpet vacuuming.

what is the voltage of those batteries? Can I use it in Japan? I know its not that big of a difference but I emailed dyson customer service and they said not to use it in Japan..
