My girlfriend has spent some serious energy locating and purchasing the car of her dreams. Tag along with us as we take delivery, and try to restore some of this beauties former glory! What do you guys think we should name her?!

Holy crap!! That old 289 sounds damn good! Glad it was a pretty smooth revival process, and welcome to the Ford Family Kate!

Some of the 289 engine's were in some of the later cars in the model year due to a strike at the engine foundry were the 302 came from, so they used up some leftover 289's. A check of the vin number will show if this was an early or a late model year car.

I am astounded at how together this thing is, especially underneath! I'll be sure to get more video of some of the really great things, and the very few "problem areas" we will be addressing later. I really wanted to dive into it but didn't want it to be an hour long video of us crawling around underneath it 🤣

That was GREAT! What a gift you all have for the camera. Your passion and knowledge of cars was explained simply with gang great humor. Your kind heart was also evident. Your a good man. Oh and Kate, you too had a great presence. 😉

Thank you very much, we're flattered! We have a good time(there was plenty of off camera frustrations of course) but getting to share our passion and take people along for the journey is an absolute gift. Thanks for tagging along and getting to share in it with us!

Think about joing the Fairlane club of america. The club has members that use to work on the assembly line at ford. I have nothing but nice things to say about the club. Great place to souce parts.

I agree! But this thing is growing on me in a hurry, and a little Ford reintroduction will help better prepare me for getting my Maverick together. I might make my way to loving Fords one of these days 🤣

Wow 289 rare for 68' reminds me of my 68' Torino fastback had an 200- inline 6. Everyone said they didn't make a 200 in the GT fastback had I must have said 50 times it's just a fastback and not a GT then I had to hear they didn't make just a standard Torino fastback 👺
