Thanks Tom and Cornelius for another great lesson in reenacting. For many, we have to make what we can not obtain from the marketplaces. Those of us who do the Viking Age in Ireland, which has a lot of archaeology to draw from, as well as from the Norwegian Vikings, as they were the predominant group that invaded Ireland. Much appreciated guidance as always my friend!!

I can relate. I have insomnia every night of my life, and watching a couple of Tom’s videos in the wee hours of the morning always puts me in a better mood and calms me down so I’m not stressing about not sleeping!

Hi Tom. Again a beautiful place and a beautiful day with Cornelius. My particular opinion about your comments is that despite the written history, the Vikings were great navigators who conquered countless sites and took many customs from those conquered sites. Tom … Good to see you and Cornelius again. The short talk on evidence of the Vikings was excellent. Cornelius was a good boy today. In the USA, we have been celebrating all things about dogs this week. We just concluded the Westminster Dog Show. My family does not miss it each year. Very nice video, Tom. Really enjoy the series Viking from A to O. Many people believe just one story that they read. If you really enjoy history then you do have to get different perspectives. It looks so cool and beautiful there! It’s already over 32c here in SE Texas, USA way too hot for want to cook outside. I’m definitely going to check out that other video from your Viking group, following along as best I can. As a practicing Heathen, I’m always made aware of the problems inherent in interpreting the Viking age and earlier based on Christian writings from another time. Like you, I take inspiration from the past, and like putting my own spin on things. Great video as always! Give Cornelius some head scratches from me ❤

Knowing what little I do of Dandelions they are very bitter and make you pee a lot, I have never tried them but my Rabbit loves them, I get the sap on my hands and they taste very sharp.

So good that I watched it twice during breakfast. Thx for the history lesson & dandelion fritter recipe Tom. 👍 ( YT Navajo mush sticks, they look a lot like the little sticks that you had tied together to stir your batter, just bigger. The Navajos are Indiginous to the American southwest, & made their sacred stir sticks out of the greasewood bush.)

History is usually always biased & skewed because it's written by the conquerors. The people in power write their own version of history, another words. So ya, like Tom said, study history with a grain of salt or a critical eye.

I’ve done a lot of research on Knights, Templars and came across a video of some Journals out of Italy and it said that the Viking found North America in the 1100 AD and the Viking did trading with the nights templars and that how the templars made it to North America in 1300’s before Columbus did in 1492

tom,cornelius my viking friend when i was a kid i always heard you could eat dandelions it looks good but i'm with cornelius. maybe if i was very hungry then i would, now as for the vikings i'm not sure what it is about them but i always like them maybe it's the creativity of the vikings now as for the raiding they were no different than greeks,romans, huns, and many others just par for the course history wise🐉🐕🌲

Tom thanks for voicing the influence christianity had on the viking era. Throughout history christianity has forced their beliefs on everyone and anyone different was considered evil. This is still going on today in the US. All of history proves nothing hates more than christian love.

Right on Kevchard, nothing destroys rich Indiginous cultures like the insidious tentacles of the christian church & their roving missionaries. The harm that they've done around the world is mind blowing when you really study history. *AWFUL* So ya, it wouldn't surprise me that way back in history the christians probably demonized the "pagan" vikings to gain power over them.

Thanks, Tom. Archaeological evidence only shows a part of what people made and did in the past. To believe that people many years in the did not vary from what the evidence found today is very short sighted. What we find hundreds of years after a people lived is only a small part of their lives.
