Dreamcatcher is definitely an outlier in the world of k-pop. They've been around for over six years now and only just started to gain more traction the past year or two. They've always leaned into elements of rock and metal their title tracks which unfortunately wasn't widely appreciated. Several members even said they were frequently told by other people that if they ever hoped to be popular or successful that they need to drop the rock music. Though now they've managed to make a name for themselves as "The Face of Rock in K-Pop" and even became the first k-pop act to be invited to the rock music festival, Primavera Sound. The also frequently incorporate horror elements into their concepts and choreography - this song in particular has choreography that was heavily inspired by the horror movie "Us."

Welcome to the Dreamworld! The amazing thing about Dreamcatcher’s sound is that it’s so unique to them. They are essentially their own genre within Korean music, so don’t expect all kpop to be like this. Their title tracks are consistently rock/metal flavored but they play around with many different styles and sounds, all while keeping their trademark horror/dark concept. This song talks about a possessive love that’s willing to cross the line and the music video was based on the movie Us! Their b-sides span all genres from EDM to jazz and their lyrics are always well-thought out and meaningful. If you want to check out more from them, my recommendation would be to watch the Dystopia trilogy next (Scream, Boca and Odd Eye) where they tackle the subject of online bullying.

Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 Dreamcatcher are outdoing themselves here once again. Musically, the song is a fantastic journey. There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's backing vocals is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done. About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. They noted that if you look at "BE" as a written Chinese character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". So the song title would mean "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to maybe mean "the cause of sadness is I like you". The video picks up on that. JiU seems to be the puppet master here (or her doppelganger!). She is the one trapping the other members and turning them into puppets, but Gahyeon tries to escape (as you can see by her throwing off the cage right in the beginning). It seems JiU catches her again though, "because she likes her". And I didn't even touch on the references to the movie "Us" yet, there is so much going on. The lyrics are even creepier. SuA sings: "Your face turns blue, blue. Your expression is like ocean view.", hinting at strangulation due to the one being obsessed taking things way, way too far. Dreamcatcher are clearly not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects, and they do it masterfully here - again. For me, this is more than just pop, it is art.

If this is your first Kpop song then you surely hit the jackpot LOL... Dreamcatcher is the most unique & for me, the best girl group you can ever found. They literally have everything you want from a girl group. Dreamcatcher is the only group I have a hard time to single out for a bias and it will become even more impossible the more you know about them. They are also the only group that I like all of their songs including all b-sides. My top 3 favorites can be from their b-sides. In fact it's even super difficult to just single out of a few favorite songs, the more you listen to their songs. Their vocals are insane and they are also the only group I know that members often switch their vocal lines & sing in turn by another member. Only a very strong vocal group can do that. And in their song Reason, they even switch up with their rap line! I would suggest you go through each of their title tracks from Chase Me to present and then go through each of their b-sides through album listening with special clips of their b-sides MVs. You will go through a very special journey trust me. Then you can watch their live performance as they are truly an amazing group!

Yes Dreamcatcher is kpop but they are pretty unique within the genre. Rolling Stone India dubbed them The Face of Rock in Kpop. They are more popular internationally then they are in South Korea though that is changing recently. If you are going to react to more of them I'd recommend their Dystopia Trilogy which is 3 videos, Scream, Boca and Odd Eye. Its about online bullying and people losing themselves in the online world.

While the standard pop-y sounds do exist, there is definitely a lot more genre and style coverage than you'd imagine. It's a fun world to experience. That being said though, you won't find anything like Dreamcatcher. Not even exaggerating. They are known as "the face of rock in K-pop" for blending varying degrees of rock elements with K-pop elements and other genres into all of their title tracks. Hence, the roller coaster you mentioned. lol As I always say, I'll never tell anyone that Dreamcatcher are better or worse than any other group, but they are undoubtedly 100% in their own lane. It also helps that the members are absurdly relatable and genuine with each other and the fans. They're definitely a good group to know from the get go. Hope to see some more Dreamcatcher! Congratulations, you've found one of the most non-typical and unique kpop group out there and also managed to choose a stand-alone title track. 👍 Normally the title tracks follow a story line (e.g. a trilogy; like Scream, Boca and Odd Eye) but there are also some stand-alone tracks (Piri, Deja Vue + the Japanese releases, etc.). If you like this one I'm pretty sure you are the next one falling into the same hole we all did in the past. Dreamcatcher is know for their Rock/Metal/EDM style in their title tracks while their B-sides cover every genre you can think of as already written in the other comments. Their path wasn't easy over the last 6+ years and we are very happy that they renewed their contract end of 2022 so we'll have more stuff coming. Beside being very professional [excluding the breaks for good reason 😉] on stage (great singing perfect and difficult choreography) there is a lot of chaos going on if you get into the behind the scenes part. They are really funny. There are lot's short clips also. Beside the main company account where they have a lot of stuff I can recommend Mera's "Dodging Disbandment and Other Extreme Sports: A History of Dreamcatcher" for the introduction of the first 3 years + the Prequel followed by the KZfaq channel of Insomicsy (the by far best fan source beside the official channel). They've also done quite a number of cover songs especially when they started and they kill it every time. It's often better than the original...so it's no wonder some other KZfaq reactor wrote in the title "Never Let Dreamcatcher COVER YOUR SONG!" and that was "only" Yoohyeon who was covering "Secret love song". 😂 Another example is the cover of "My Lucky Strike" from Maroon 5, ...).

Anything by Dreamcatcher is fantastic. They don't have any bad songs. They are my favorite kpop group. I would also suggest reacting to something a bit different, a band named Band-Maid from Japan. Songs such as Thrill, Onset, or Choose Me would be a good starting point.

Dreamcatcher is not the regular k-pop group. Actually they are like so unique that they invented their own genre of k-pop and it's not possible to reproduce. I guess you would dig it if you dive into them.

This is one of my most favourite tracks by Dreamcatcher. I only got to know them about 2 and a half years ago, but I have already had the pleasure to see them live twice! They are definitely one of my most favourite K-pop groups out there. The song that got me and a lot of people i think into Dreamcatcher is the song "Scream". So you should definitely check that song out. But like everyone else is saying, they have so many good songs, and if you dive into the lyrics too, you will find that they also convey good messages like you should love yourself, stop bullying, climate change just to name a few. They usually make releases in a set of three where the story continues from one release to the other, so that's definitely something to be aware of when watching Dreamcatchers music videos. But you are not wrong to fall for Dreamcatcher songs... Dreamcatcher is so unique in a lot of areas when we talk about Kpop girls group... Their title tracks are always infused with rock/metal with other genres.. While their B-sides tracks are more diverse in genres, there are pop, rock, jazz, reggae, trap, edm, and others... So far, for me, their discography are never missed, always be a banger one after the other... They are in the industry from 2017, with over 100 songs has been produced, and no song sound replicated... My advice for you is, when you react to other Kpop groups, you may forget all about Dreamcatcher sound and style, cause they are very different... Welcome to the Dreamworld. Dreamcatcher is not an average group. Their sound is pretty unique in kpop. They are still kind of like a black sheep in the industry and Korea (after 6 years of existing), because they are incorporating rock in their songs (not in all songs, but many) and rock overall isn't a popular genre in Korea. BEcause is probably my favorite title track from them. But if you liked them try out other songs, like Bon Voyage, Deja Vu, Scream, Reason. Also, if you never heard of Hanabie, try them out, my favs from are Sunrise Miso Soup and Pardon Me, I Have to Go Now. They are more like a metalcore band from Japan. I love them so much. :-)

I wasn't a big fan of K-pop, but I asked a friend who loves it to recommend some songs, I'm not a big fan of the cute concept, she immediately recommended Dreamcatcher to me because she knew I would like it, and it worked, Dreamcatcher is definitely my group favorite kpop, I love their rock concept, they are not a traditional group like the others, I hope you continue to react to more of their music, you will love it!! An interesting fact about the video is that it was based on a horror film called “Us”. I like other kpop groups but Dreamcatcher is one of a kind. They debuted specifically with a dark/rock concept to stand apart from the crowd, and their producers are creative af fearlessly mix genres. Their title tracks tend to have rock and headbanger moments but their bsides include jazz, city pop, trance, and ballads. If you want to react to another song, you can go with Scream or Maison. Scream is the first in the Dystopia trilogy, 3 songs that have a storyline about online harassment. Order goes Scream, BOCA, and Odd eye. I never liked kpop until I discovered Dreamcatcher and Mamamoo during the pandemic in my KZfaq vortex viewing habits. Mamamoo is more poppy and vocal-focused, amazing vocalists but they're focused on solo stuff now. Dreamcatcher is still active af and are about to release a new EP and music video this month. I listen to a lot of kpop casually but the only group I seriously stan is Dreamcatcher. I bought their light stick, shipped from Korea, and it's like a giant wizard staff that comes in a motherf*cking coffin. No regrets. I brought the light stick to a metal show because it seemed to fit the aesthetic and a stranger asked to take a pic with it, lmao. Banger songs, gorgeous girls, sick merch, underdog story. 10/10 best of kpop.

Welcome to KPop. With K-Pop Title track music videos (M/V) the subtitle helps a lot. Also these songs are normally pretty deep with both meaning and choreography, so once you get the meaning of the song watching the choreography is recommended. I know it sounds weird but with K-Pop the dance aspect actually adds a lot, so give it a try to get the gist of it. BEcause is a standalone track but it has some of the most complex visual references I have ever seen in an M/V and paired with its really creepy lyrics it is just a real masterpiece. And it gives a rough estimation on how complex DreamCatcher visual symbolism can go (which also gives a hint on how complex their Lyrics can be). Anyway just a few things to point out: In the title "BE" as written by the Chinese character "悲“, means "sadness" so "BEcause I love you" means that the source of my sadness is that I love you. It is a song about obsessive love while the visuals are heavily inspired by the movie "US" by Jordan Peele where doppelgangers living underground take over the life of their counterparts. Contrary to that in BEcause it is more like an obsessive Shadow side that craves love and a normal side (red represents the shadow side, blue represents the normal side while purple is an indication that these side live together). The hourglass starts the obsessive cycle 0:56 when the shadow side breaks 0:46 free and starts corrupting the normal side 0:52 while eventually the obsessive side gets rejected and becomes the victim of itself and becomes the new normal side and the cycle starts over. Some details I love are how in the lobby at the beginning the dresses of the people who will be taken over during the video are presented 1:13. Also the old electric chair used as a throne with roses is a nice one 2:11. Exactly half the scenes use wrong lighting setup enforcing the duality, just like all the mirror and upside down images. Finally plenty of images are exact recreations from the "US". Overall, I am also in love with BEcause M/V :) Stay the way you are like a beautiful painting is straight up reference to Good night, "like my very own doll" (one of their earlier song) . The doll you can technically interpret as a corpse, especially that right after the "take away the spilled paint before it hardens " is basically blood.... Similar to how Blue Blue your face turns blue is suffocation. Anyway welcome to K-Pop and especially DreamCatcher, they are absolutely crazy good.

Dreamcatcher is not really a good place to start if you are looking for KPop, lol. Although that is the genre they stand in on paper, they honestly don’t sound the part. But if you are looking for good music, they are one of the best groups out there. Dreamcatcher don’t do bad songs. Period. They may do something that isn’t one’s taste, but no bad music in their world. Rock is their foundation and all of their Titles contain it; they use their B Sides as a means to experiment. I’ve never been good at sugar coating things so I’ll say it outright: this is a deep rabbit hole. This group debuted in 2017 and has made a lot of music since then. The members welcome anyone to listen to their music. If you’re curiosity gets the better of you and you want to look further you may never come out, lol. Dreamcatcher is like a black hole-once you fall in you can never get out. I’ve been stuck since 2018 and I’ve never regretted it. I hope you choose to listen to more.

They are pretty unique tbh. One of my fav bands nowdays. Hope u gonna upload more :D Chase me is very popular from them and a really good song. My fav kpop band these days is (G)I-DLE. I think u will like it aswell. They are pretty unique aswell. Because they do their own music. Typically in kpop, they have a producer behind and the sound can be a little bit "industrial". So... Imo, they are amazing. U gonna get deep voice, bright voices, rap, great concepts, stories... And they are really fun. There is a lot of GUIDES aswell. U can check both guides from these two bands if u want :) i for sure gonna check that video! :D

While the vocals and visuals are always featured in the music videos, much of their talent as dancers is lost. I would advise always pairing the music video with a dance video so you can fully appreciate how talented these girls are. Come for the music. Stay for the girls.
