Last night my friend from Cook Islands 🇨🇰 performed this beautiful exotic dance in my husband birthday party here in Australia 🇦🇺. The majority of us are all from Europe and West Africa and it was absolutely breathtaking watching her dancing 💃🏽 we enjoyed it so much. I can tell how proud She is of her culture and loves to embrace it. I love Cook Islanders ❤️

Wc Mad I’m from Bermuda I always felt a connection with Hawaii n turns out my whole family from Hawaii I have not on lick of Bermudian in me my family was taken n brought on ships then we stayed here n never left maybe u are Polynesian u gotta get a dna test

@@Ambermindurs yes it's a story not really told many Polynesians left the islands with the visiting sailors, only to be sold into slavery. It's how I also have Hawaiian and tahitian ancestry.

We visited Penrhyn atoll in the Cook Islands a few years ago and we had a bunch of people onboard our boat and it was such fun watching the kids! The boys would start drumming on everything, the jerry cans, the rigging, everything! As soon as they started all the little girls hips would start! I don't think anyone really taught them, they just seemed to know how to dance :)

Usually, parents or grandparents would sound drumbeats with their mouths and get babies/small children to dance. We’re taught at a very young age. Sometimes it’s done to entertain the family, and everyone will laugh.

Germany 2005?? That's when we travelled to Europe and performed! I can't remember the place but we stayed at some Hostel and our two tour guides were named Tilo & Martez! Was only a kid on the trip but I remember like it was yesterday!😉👍🏽

J’ai toujours beaucoup aimé et j’ai appris en soin que j’ai , dans une autre vie , vécue en Polynésie ou région semblable , me souviens plus de ce qu’elle m’avait dit . Mais ces îles s’insinue les indiens d’Amérique du Nord ça me parle beaucoup . Proche de la nature et en respect avec la terre surtout

it is very hot especially this day for shooting. we had to shoot this at 3 different locations and atleast 12 times over hitting certain places and corrections with dancers lol .. intense

I practice caribean dances and believe me, this is the most tiring thing in the world. The dance itself it's not that hard, but u can tell you're working out while u perform it!

@HaVVaiianVVarrior tahitian and cook island dancing both very similar, if not, theyre the same. More popular vibrate,exciting sexy than any of the other pacific islands cultural dancing ( wont mentio any names lol )

Is there any distinct difference between Cook island dancing & Tahitian dancing? Both are beautiful.

Chop Suey The distinct differences is that Cook Islanders dance with both their feet close together and flat on the floor. They are usually stationed in a position rather than all moving all over the stage. Both dances are beautiful but I personally prefer Cook Island dancing and drumming!

@rouhania976 The other big difference is their drum beats. watch this link watch?v=GOu0SeSKfkE&feature=related and note the difference btwn cook island and tahitian. Tahitian move around the stage alot, they open their legs alot, they dance on toes more, their drum beats are difference. cook islands are more stationary, foot flat on floor alot, drum beats is different. heres another cook island dance watch?v=UCkjJfE5g4g&feature=related hope that helped
