Tagore will always remain as a beacon of intellect, humanity and sheer excellence. Anyone who questions his patriotism, because of vested political interests, has not the slightest idea of what (s)he is talking about. It takes a lifetime to understand Tagore. If there is one God, all Bengalis unanimously worship, it is Tagore.

অসামান্য এই উপস্থাপনা বারবার শুনবার মতন। শ্রদ্ধেয় শ্রাবণী সেন আমার অত্যন্ত প্রিয় শিল্পী। সবিনয়ে নিবেদন করি, এই গানটিকে ইতিহাসগতভাবে যেভাবে উপস্থাপিত করা হল, সেক্ষেত্রে সংশয় জাগছে। গানের মাঝে ইংরেজিতে রবীন্দ্রনাথের যে বিখ্যাত প্রতিবাদী চিঠিখানি অনবদ্য ভঙ্গিতে পাঠ করা হল, সেটি তিনি তৎকালীন ব্রিটিশ বড়লাটকে লিখেছিলেন ১৯১৯ সালে, পাঞ্জাবের জালিয়ানওয়ালাবাগে ইংরেজ-কর্তৃক নিষ্ঠুর গণহত্যায় গভীরভাবে মর্মাহত হয়ে তিনি এই চিঠিতে তাঁর ১৯১৫ সালে প্রাপ্ত স্যার উপাধি প্রত্যাখ্যান করবার কথা জানিয়েছিলেন। অন্যদিকে "এ মণিহার আমায়" গানটি তিনি লন্ডনে বাসকালীন রচনা করেন ১৯১৩ সালে, নোবেল পুরস্কার পাওয়ার অব্যবহিত পরে। অর্থাৎ এই গানে "মণিহার" বলতে তিনি এই নোবেল পুরস্কারকেই বুঝিয়েছেন, স্যার উপাধিকে নয়। তাছাড়া তখনো তিনি ইংরেজদের কাছ থেকে স্যার উপাধি পাননি। পেয়েছিলেন আরো দুই বছর পরে ১৯১৫ সালে। কিন্তু এই গানের সামগ্রিক উপস্থাপনা সেই সত্যকে তুলে ধরেনি। এখানে এমনভাবে এই গানের মাঝে উক্ত ইংরেজি চিঠিটি পাঠ করা হয়েছে, যাতে মনে হচ্ছে স্যার উপাধিকেই যেন তিনি এই গানে "মণিহার" বলে নির্দেশ করছেন, পত্র-মারফৎ সেই উপাধি বর্জন করাটা যেন রবীন্দ্রনাথের কাছে মণিহার ত্যাগ করবার মতন----এটি কখনোই রবীন্দ্রজীবনী-অনুসারে ঐতিহাসিক সত্য নয়। এক্ষেত্রে গানটির অসাধারণ নান্দনিক পরিবেশনের মধ্য দিয়ে ইতিহাসকে ভ্রান্তভাবে প্রদর্শন করা হল বলে অত্যন্ত পীড়িত বোধ করছি। শ্রদ্ধেয় শ্রাবণী ম্যাডামের কি এই বিষয়টা দৃষ্টির বাইরে থেকে গেছে ??

@@somahalder6961 আপনি আমার মন্তব্য পড়েছেন বলে আপনাকে ধন্যবাদ জানাই। সবিনয়ে বলি, যাঁরা এই knight উপাধি পান, পাওয়ার সময় থেকে তাঁদের নামের আগে সম্বোধনে "Sir" কথাটি যুক্ত হয়ে যায়। এটাই knight উপাধি-লাভের বিশেষত্ব। এর মাধ্যমে ওই উপাধিধারীকে বিশেষ সম্মান প্রদর্শন করা হয়ে থাকে। অর্থাৎ knight উপাধি আর Sir সম্বোধন একই মুদ্রার এপিঠ-ওপিঠ। রবীন্দ্রনাথের ক্ষেত্রেও এমনটাই হয়েছিল। ১৯১৫ সালে প্রাপ্ত knight তথা Sir উপাধিকে ১৯১৯ সালে তিনি কুখ্যাত জালিয়ানওয়ালাবাগ বর্বরতার বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ -স্বরূপ ত্যাগ করেন।।
