@@Ottawalks We took our Xiaomi scooters out and from near the convention center around the park to under the bridge. That is an amazing thing to do. They are legal on the seawall, I didn't know but it's a great thing!

@@ToddEdmondson Glad you guys managed to get that ride in! As long as people ride them responsibly, scooters should be legal to ride them, especially on multi-use paths.

hey hey so I was just reading that these are technically illegal still in BC. Have any problems w police?

No issues at all, Im sure if I was riding recklessly then I would. A majority of Uber eats delivery riders have switched from biking to e-scooters in the downtown Vancouver area so perhaps police just don't bother with them.

Thanks for asking the question that has been annoying me since I got my e-scooter! I found out it is illegal on public roads after I purchased it. I just tried it on my back lane. I want so much to ride it to work which only takes about 25 minutes walking. I saw people riding e-scooters though. I was wondering if anyone has been caught by the police so I dare not to ride it yet.

@@AngelaLee-ql6um Yeah I live on commercial on 12th, very close to 2 major commuting bike lanes, one along 10th an one along North Grandview Highway. Now that the weather is nice I see people riding them routinely seemingly without issue. I got an ES4 myself and haven't had any issue as I, along with everyone else I see, don't ride recklessly. That's on relatively safe roads designated for bikes though, not non-bike-lane roads and not sidewalks. I haven't checked out Stanley Park yet. They might enforce differently there.

@@alexwestconsulting Thank you for your reply! Unfortunately there are no bike lanes on my way to my working place. Very few people and not busy traffic though. I think it will pretty safe because I am going to ride at a very low speed. Hopefully we can ride e-scooters legally very soon. Don’t want to wait until summer ends.

@@AngelaLee-ql6um Honestly, just go for it. They are targeting people being reckless and those on peddle-less bikes that are more akin to scooters or even motorcycles proper that ride in traffic lanes with traffic without insurance. I've ridden by cops on my ES4 many times now.
