*Spoiler Below* Reminded me of the intense scene in the recent Guardians of the Galaxy 3, when Rocket goes into cardiac arrest and flatlines. Followed by Peter wailing and my God, Chris Pratt’s acted his ass off during that scene. Thankfully Rocket does fully reawaken a few moments later and the characters cry while embracing. It was a very hard scene to watch, but thank goodness Rocket dying was a fake out. He’s always been my favorite of them

On set she beloved ET was real, the cast told Steven and he made 2 guys work ET the whole time so when she would be caught talking to him he would be alive, she had genuinely thought ET was dying

The scene with Michael resonates with me so much... You act a certain way in high school, but you're still a kid. To be scared and to go to a closet to be comforted is honestly so precious. I really relate to him.

I completely understand how you feel. Spielberg is a genius. Hook and Artificial Intelligence are, amongst others, my favourite films of all time. His association with Amblin Entertainment was legendary (produced Back to the Future and Animaniacs). E.T however gave me terrifying and traumatic nightmares during my childhood years! Plushies in the shops? I'd freeze in fear. Despite being a mad fan of John Williams' music, my Dad would play his vinyl version of this and I would run out of the house. Watching the film paralysed me with pure fear. I wholeheartedly respect the utter craftsmanship, love and timeless status that this film achieved. I understand the film is a timeless classic and deserves every recognition. I can watch clips from the film now and appreciate them for their artistic achievement, but I still feel very unnerved when I do so. Everything is subjective. We all see things differently. ❤

I think this clip is incomplete. I remember Dr. Keys asking Elliott if he wanted to spend some time mourning ET by his dead body. Elliott nodded and was given the time as we see here

Oh gosh Drew, Ive been a fan since i was a kid and saw ET in the theatre. (Well most of it, because at "stay with me" scene, i had to be removed from the theatre because i was sobbing. Dont worry, my mom got me back in time to see you crying as ET is being defibrilated...I was 6. That was HEAVY! 😢) Anyway nuff babbling. Just here to say i love you more than ever and am so proud of you, my faraway movie dream-sister. You keep on having fun and sharing joy, and being an inspiration to so many girls and women. ❤

I had the actual novel that the movie was based off of but lots of things were changed. Like the candy in the book it was a coloured chocolate candy but the movie uses Reese’s Pieces. I don’t think we have the book anymore but it was so intense that I didn’t finish it the first time that I found it and started to read it. I remember reading the boom again when I was a bit older maybe 12 because the first time I read it I was only 9 at the time and it was too much for me to handle at such a young age.
