I had a lot of difficulties with chemistry last year which meant that I had to redo my first year at uni. I really, reallye appriciate your clear language... and your calm and confident way of explaining. A lot of chemistry tutors/proff tends to ramble on with too much "um", "eh"....too much emty talk which confuses me. Also, I love how you sum up things or repeat. how can you tell the difference between a sn1 and e1 diagram? i noticed that they're pretty similar in appearance

Ma am we were told in our class that elimination reactions are endothermic, so is the y axis of the graph change in Gibbs free energy or enthalpy, little confused there

The y axis shows a change in free energy. Sorry for the confusion. Overall, this reaction has a negative delta G and is spontaneous.

Yes, but this diagram charts the course of the free energy. We have a negative value here for delta G, but that does not mean a negative value for delta H.
