I watched this game and from the second inning I knew at least one manager was going to be ejected. His zone was terrible the whole game, especially outside to righties.

I now know why Angel Hernandez is protected by baseball like Mona Lisa at the Louvre: he soaks up all the hate and takes the spotlight off the other bad umps, of which there are many. Ryan Willis was ATROCIOUS yesterday. As early as the 1st inning the Yankees catcher was setting up two feet off the plate and Stroman was still getting called strikes.

Shame on MLB for setting up all this crap on balls and strikes. We should make the owners strap on the equipment and call balls and strikes for one inning. I'd like to see that!

I genuinely feel like the toronto media is getting to him, because this felt like a "i gotta show im fired up and stand up for my players" ejection, because the strikezone was huge *for both sides* all game and he waited that long to get more vocal about it

If they go to robo umps for balls and strikes, there wont be anything for managers and players to whine about. Then they will have to actually look in the mirror when they fail.

With the Stupid Box and Dugouts getting to watch the pitch replay on TV, there should only be one strike and the batter is out. They can appeal the strike call to New York. That will speed up the game. Any complaints, 10 game suspension.

I don't understand why these coaches jog out to the umpire. Way more of a power move to walk slowly, take your time getting to him before you unload on him. Make them wait on you to start their game up without you again.

MLB seems to have no juice versus the umpire's union. If they did, umps like Angel Hernandez would no longer be working. They really need to go to an ABS (robo-ump) system in MLB. The Hawk-Eye system instantly relays the correct call to the home plate umpire's earpiece and the ump makes the call. The fans aren't deprived of the umpire making emphatic calls. The players and managers have nothing to cry about. The game would speed up without all the confrontations. Everyone should be happy.

To be fair, the zone was garbage all day, and both managers spent a good part of the game barking at the ump. The YES pxp were awfully biased in their commentary.

Sometimes Close Call Sports are such homers for the umpires. Umpire Auditor had Ryan Wills missing 19 calls on both teams. Lindsey, take your head out of the clouds and be more objective. Wills had a bad game, but lets make him look good.

There's no excuse for that level of umpire abuse. He should get a 1-game suspension. Now that was some fine hitting by Judge on a pitch in a difficult spot. I love a power hitter who's not just up there to hit a home run or strike out trying.

This is why I think the zone box need and tablet need to be go away. It is all easy peasly to announceor and coaches when they have help with a box that 90% of the time correct. I guarantee you that if they went behind the plate, Angel would look like a king of umpires compared to the managers and announceor.
