Hey man! There is a full stainless steel Mini Madness exhaust for sale on Kijiji now. Was gonna get it but it's a catless system. If you are building a track car might be good for you. Love your videos!

I just wanted to mention I have complete exhaust including header, the schrick cam, 17% reduction pulley, ATI super damper, 380 injectors, Detroit tune bypass valve, forged intercooler, also the pedal Commander and all this still running on stock ECU and it runs fine. The cam upgrade is very noticeable during the mid to upper range and is still idols perfect on the stock ECU the only thing that changed really was idle vacuum which with the stock cam I was right around 20 HG with the new schrick cam I'm right around 17 HG. All this to say that the stock ECU made all these adjustments without problem and I daily this car to and from work. Next up for me I think will be the way motor works quick tune to start for a little bit then maybe an rnw tune later when I swap for the 550 injectors.

Wow I am shocked you run all that on the stock ECU. Good to know. My injectors are looking rough so I was considering replacing them. OEM is expensive while the 550s are fairly cheap but need a tune. I was looking at the Bytetronik but that the further down the road. Thanks for watching all the comments!

@@RegardingAutomobiles yeah sure I appreciate your reply and I can show you that with all the add-ons that I've had ECU compensates very well and runs very smooth. I really like the way motor works baffled oil pan myself. I also have a set of 550 injectors sitting in the shelf waiting to be installed with a tune. I'm also considering getting the limited slip differential at the same time I replace my clutch-not that I really need it now but I won't next year. I'm making way for a roll cage I took out the seats and miscellaneous panels remove the battery for the battery from the stock location and it's now in the passenger side for weight distribution. I replace the driver's seat added a harness with a bracket I welded the interior change the steering wheel with quick release hub as well while I was at it. Just coming along quite well but I definitely want to rip out the motor like you did I just haven't gotten around to watching the first few episodes of you removing the engine which I will soon because I'll be taking part in the same thing. Don't forget where the engines torn apart I know those videos a couple months old you should service the supercharger they sell legit kits on ebay for about $68 comes with AC Delco oil and the proper gaskets. I'll definitely stay tuned thanks for the great videos.

I had the cravenspeed 1LB crank pulley and yes it does rev a bit faster but ultimately sprung for the ATI Super Damper. Ive read extensive articles im sure you have but ultimately keep in mind that BMW designed this engine to have a damper for a reason and being a performance company if the engine was perfectly balanced they would've definitely slapped a solid pulley over the heavier dampened one. Also I have that ebay Manzo headers and I will tell you they were a bitch to get on because of the sway bar-at least for me. Also note they are extremely loud, I have mine mated up to a proper Monza cat back with 3 resonators and though I like it-it really screams. These are non interference engines also.

Still persevering, well done. Did you have oil starvation to cause the engine problem or could it have been sized alternator stopping the water pump going round?

The thought had crossed my mind. How could the alternator be so seized and still be running? I hope the belt would start slipping over the alternator pulley and let everything else keep turning. Not sure I will ever know the exact order of death. Open to more suggestions.

@@RegardingAutomobiles I'd say oil starvation and chain stretch that succumbed to the track day. For comparison my old chain was a link larger than the brand new one not so much in links but in length if you stretch them out the size difference is noticeable I have pictures as well because I couldn't believe it. All that stretch and that slack on the bottom was basically like a chainsaw and that's the reason why you're missing the Ray on your timing cover exactly like how mine is as well I also have pictures of that.

Reasons why your sprocket didn't go in cause it wasn't heated hot enough to the right temp. Only way for you to find out if the part reached the right temp? You'd need a infrared thermometer.

Everything you're doing is awesome I like seeing the progress on your mini. However the weight savings you're gaining from running an undampened pulley is not worth the abuse you're going to put the bottom end of the engine through. The purpose of a harmonic balancer is to dampen harmonic vibrations. Without dampening all those little vibrations will be hell on the internals of the engine. And with polyurethane engine mounts and single Mass flywheel you are going to rattle your teeth out, Which if it's a track car who cares. I know how expensive it is to rebuild these cars. Don't want you to overstress your new engine just to save four pounds.

Thanks for the comment! The final state, whenever I get there, will be a track day car. I assume once I’m done the NVH will be really super high and unbearable but also awesome heh.
