Another build to look forward too, Tamiya’s 2024 re-issue Classic early 90’s 4WD the Manta Ray (df01 chassis). Admittedly not my favourite body style as I prefer the blazing star and dirt thrasher, but I bet it grows on me once it’s built 😉 I’ll also be adding some goodies to the build as well

How you doing now, any better ? It’s certainly an iconic buggy , hope you get one soon. Hoping to start the build this weekend, body shell is finished though.

I was never a big fan of the Manta Ray, but it's really grown on me over the years. And it'll look absolutely awesome in the cobalt green!!!!

Xtra speed are doing a great hob for iotuon parts, look forward to seeing it in a colour ither than silver. 👍🏻

Cheers :) yes the Terra C , manta ray and dirt thrasher all share the same chassis and the top force is basically a hopped version of. Take care

What i don't get is the wheels. If you do box art they aren't the colour.. Now I've dug out the kit wheels from the Sandviper and once the body is backed with black there going to be very close in colour but obviously the fronts won't work so I've ordered another set of rears and will see if they look better. Nit sure about that esc either.. It's another of brand hobbywing clone isn't it. Anyway I've got the TA02 speed gear set for it along with a alloy motor mount and a 21 turn motor. Will be ordering the front UJs as you have.

I do love the Df01 chassis, but I can't understand why tamiya have released the top force and manta ray yet again!......at £260 for the TF. As the market is flooded with the 2021 Evo, the price has dropped significantly.,....for an extra £40-£50 you can pickup the Evo with carbon chassis set, Hi caps, full bearings, all round CVD drive shafts, upgraded ball diffs and adjustable turnbuckles, why would anyone bother with the 2017 re re....again! I wish tamiya would re release the Terra conqueror.... most of the parts are manta ray, only the body, wing, decals and motor are unique to the conqueror...prop shaft, turnbuckles and ball diffs are from the top force and the shocks are dark impact rears + bearings.......easy peasey!...

Of it had been up to me 100% a terra conqueror or BS or DT. I bet they will still shift some 2017 top forces , someone will buy it . Cheers for commenting :)
