Yes, the m60 manifold bolts right up. You lose a little bit of low end torque but gain top end HP, it pulled all the way to redline. BTW, if anyone here needs a tune for any model/year E38, shoot me a message or email to dudmd@yahoo.com I can do the m60, m62, m62tu and even the M73 750iL tunes (750il tunes will be ready in a week or two)

My ABS module and traction control work perfectly without any issues. The light was blinking because I was losing traction, therefore it would correct it.

Caleb, the sound would be close but slightly different on an m60 due to smaller displacement and the absence of Vanos.

These tips were already on the car when I bought it. So I just left them alone, going to sell the car now anyways (bought a 750il )

Wow... I really like the sound. That's just a muffler delete and straight pipes? Been thinking about getting another E38 to pair with my current E34 540i/6; sounds like I should do this to both. Any tangible benefits to the M60 intake manifold, and I'm assuming it's a straight swap?

nothing else was removed. The tips I have on here are resonated, don't know if they help.

Just deleted the rear muffler (Endschalldämpfer?), replaced with pipes?

Do you have the resonator delete as well? I had the same thing done and didn't sound like that

Wasssup I recently purchased a 2001 bmw 740il wanna do a muffler delete put down have the bumper with cutouts did the tips melt the bumper ?

No, if you trim the bumper just right and leave enough air gap between bumper and tips, it will not melt anything.

Lévon Khanzatian only the rear mufflers were deleted. Car had stock resonator and cats

The first 30 seconds after ignition are the hardest on an engine...just saying . Nice car though, sounds great

Do you need to straight pipe it after you cut the mufflers off? or can you just leave it as is? and can you take the mufflers off without sawing? just bolts and nuts?

Do u recommend other people to own the car from a user perspective not as a fan of the E38? Does this car have a lot of problems mechanically and electrically ? Is it expensive to maintain and to own ? Thanx

I would recommend owning one, yes. 99+ are more expensive to own/maintain due to a common timing chain guide failure (if they're still original) and alternators fail commonly as well. The 99+ is the best looking though and has newer electronics. If you can do some of the work yourself, these cars are a great fit then. I love how comfortable and adjustable the seats are, even my 04 SL600 cant provide the same comfort.

If you can afford fuel and you like good comfort and space, then yes this car is great choise even if you arent fun of e38 (have one 740i as a winter car oadtrip car)

I would recommend the 97 through early 99 models with the non-Vanos. Vanos models have more HP but known to have Vanos issues that are a pain to deal with.
