In this video we take out the E46 BMW M3 out for a spin and just drive. We equipped the M3 with additional microphones to capture capturing the amazing engine and exhaust noise as well.
This E46 BMW M3 is completely stock and features the wonderful naturally aspirated S54 inline 6 cylinder engine making 333 horsepower and 262 foot pounds of torque. This specific E46 M3 is mated to a 6 speed smg transmission, which isnt the best but in our opinion better than any automatic during that time.
The E46 M3 engine intake noise is intoxicating and has a grunt that you wont find in todays BMW M cars. The 6 individual throttle bodies in the S54 make the E46 M3's intake noise something to behold. On the other end you have the raspy exhaust which the E46 M3 is famous for. The E46 M3 selling point isnt the exhaust, however, it sounds good on spirited drives. Besides, the intake noise is so overpowering that it hides the raspiness of the e46 m3 exhaust.
