I bet Eadred knows the difficulty of having an illness which is probably why he wants to be in the forefront to have a warrior's death rather than succumb on his deathbed

O again one of best History channels i'am again 1day to late but stupid time difference and was busy. Love your videos it’s so interesting to learn about the anglo Saxons kings!! Just noticed you said he was a son of Edmund but he was his brother, obviously Edmund and their father being Edward the elder is a tad confusing lol

Could have been crohns disease. Though it was very rare back then. You have to realize that most ate good diets, no ultra processed food. Anorexia sounds possible, but what else could it have been?

The Anglo Saxon Chronicles while very good at dates, big happenings etc don't accept everything they say as fact. They like basically all historical documents from any time are very biased. The "Scots" were a series of clans and there wouldn't have been any single entity to give path. Maybe 1 or 2 clams did that were near the boarder but there's no way that the Highlands calns did. They rarely recognised a king till very late on and probably knew very little about Eadred.
