Farming is massively disrupted by automation, to a point where unless you're doing it for yourself as a hobby, you will not be able to compete with the economies of scale at play. AI is already being tested on Game, Music, and graphics composition. Computer animation and programming jobs will be the first jobs to go as AI will be infinitely more efficient than any human can be. Have you seen the fake human images AI has already made, they are indistinguishable from real photos. The most profitable jobs in the future will actually be the hand made industry. Everything will become so accessible and cheap because it can be made from robots, that luxury items will be the artisan hand made things. Such as pottery, quilts, soaps, etc.

She had said to me "Remember not everyone will get laid off. The creme will rise to the top.".. Maybe I'm in that 10% percent or more, as I was able to keep my job. I definitely felt bad about some of my colleagues and friends who were let go though.

Extrapolation leaves a few things out: 1. Sales. Robots can dispense, but they cannot persuade and therefore sell. There will be a need for sales people. 2. Construction workers. Construction sites are dirty, dangerous places which wreak havoc on machinery. The cost of maintaining and operating robots in such an environment is much higher than using migrant labor from low income countries. While there may be some automation, there won't be that much. 3. Education. Demand here will rise, while technology is good for transferring knowledge, explaining things to individual students is something that still needs the human touch. 4. Customer service. I think this one will boom! AI is not perfect and customer service bots often are poorly designed and leave people confused instead of satisfied. Human agents will be needed to calm people down, smooth ruffled feathers and solve the problems that the AI compounded. As automated systems increase, so will the problems and so will the opportunities for contact center agents. 5. Lawyers. What do Americans do when someone screws up? They sue someone! High capacity AI means screw ups will be generated on an industrial scale! The owners of the robots will sue the manufacturers and the manufacturers will sue the subcontractors or the companies running the cloud infrastructure or the networks. Almost makes me wish I was studying law! Bear in mind that in most countries, the birthday is declining, so populations will age, and then fall. Despite automation, there may still be demand for human labor where it is needed.

I'm starting a film company to make a web series, actually two interrelated series which will initially be launched on KZfaq Premium with the goal of getting it on Netflix and than to cable networks like AMC or FX. Your video just gave me an idea for a very cost efficent way to produce the series. My plan will be to use CGI to create realistic human characters and than I will do all the voice acting myself as I play back the "silent movie" footage I created via CGI, send the raw footage with my raw voice recordings pre-added to to the footage to a professional studio for post production (or I'll hire my own techincian in house) to remaster the voice recordings to define very distinct characters that don't sound like they were all voiced by one person. That plan to outsource that part of the production process will change if I can find a film production related software program that will allow me to filter my voice in "reel" time as I'm recording my characters' lines in their individual voices.

This video is an eye opener. I hope to God that when all the earths resources and wildlife are gone that humans will find a way to help eachother stay human with the soul skills of wisdom and compassion. This will prove impossible unless we severely limit AI to being our servants and not our inevitable masters. If you don't care what happens to the other 90% as they ( or we, ) proceed, you will have lost your humanity before AI is even fully implemented. At that point, the only option I see, is to create or join conscious communities that grow their own food, purify their own stored water, and form structures to ourselves human. Closer to the Amish, perhaps...

catherine hammond I know it does seem a bit bleak Catherine, but do you want to what I see a lot of hope & potential in? You may think I'm nuts though, but if you look into, you may be surprised 😄. Or at least, I was very surprised.

The fear of the economic elite is very valid. But there is no reason to fear robots. They are only tools. As for returning to basic agrarian lifestyle... That could possibly work for some but not everyone. Retreating into small groups will do nothing for the millions of people who live in the cities. That many people could never scatter into little villages. It's just not reasonable. We just need to find better ways to help each other to flourish rather than just the financial elite.

@@tmc1373 shittttt not private Care. I make 25hr. Client before this one , I made $45 hour. Families will pay and negotiate contracts so their loved ones can stay in the comfort of their own homes while they travel . Every client doesn’t require the same amount of care. Do you know how happy my current client is ,that he has help. With computer and phone diagnostics. He’s 81yrs old in his right mind still working the stock market. I’m transitioning to doing Remote Notary Signings on the days I don’t work. I keep up with my CNA license and CPR training. This field is not for everyone. But I know I’ll always have a job, and can negotiate my price with the services I provide.

@@tmc1373 well first you need to take a CNA training class to learn the proper techniques. If you are easily grossed out over poop, urine, blood and throw up this is not the job for you. I learned care giving right after high school. The older women on the job trained me. So if your really serious look up some CNA care giving videos and see if you would like to do this type of work first. You have to have compassion for others and a-lot of patience. Usually old people like things done a certain way. I took my CNA training at a community college. I paid $1,000 for the class. It’s $560 now since the pandemic hit. But there are other jobs if CNA is to hard for you. Look at your community college FAST TRACK PROGRAMs. A lot of jobs that might interest you.
