Official Grieve Trilogy video for "Grieve / Weeping Willow / Voiceless Choir" from the new Wormrot album 'Hiss', out July 8th. Pre-order now at www.earache.com/wormrot
This video pays homage to Asian cinema cult classics such as the 'Female Prisoner Scorpion,’ and a nod towards Singapore’s favourite crime shows. WORMROT guitarist Rasyid explains:
"Combining three songs to tell a single continuous story, this trilogy portrays the unnamed protagonist's vengeance on the corrupt cops who plotted the murder of her lover. We pay tribute to '70s Japanese crime movies and two of Singapore's own TV series 'Triple 9' and 'Crimewatch' which we grew up watching."

the use of violin is giving me hope as someone who is a classically trained violinist but also always wanted to participate in more brutal music subgenres. always got told violin was too soft for the music the bands i auditioned for were making but seeing it used this way brings me hope

Yeah sometimes grind seems like a sonic immature shitpost of a genre, but those guys are legit musicians, serious about their craft.

This album is next level. I keep going back and hearing something new. Chords and softer notes that have no business being grindcore, but they work. Drumming that... I didn't know was possible: It's like every time you heard this genre but there's like 5 more notes or more thrown into a measure. Arif's abilities are akin to a swan song. No holding back. This band has put out THE album. The one that cannot be denied. This is greatness.

The way this band evolve with every release is something that make me genuinely happy and knowing that Arif was struggling with his voice but still had these result is admirable. After Voices i never though they would make me feel this and exceed my expectations because they were very high but this is more that i could imagine... Thanks Wormrot! lml

Voiceless Choir is amazing beginning reminded me a bit of Darkest Hour then the end tho was straight pure 80s thrash. I love how theyre a grind band but they incorporate other styles so awesome

Really loving the new stuff guys! Taken it to the next level. Jazz grind. John Zorn/ painkiller, brutal truth etc. Although they usual use a saxophone to extend the grind, your using a fucking violin or something!!! Love it. Neo grind! Love how your still keeping the grind atmosphere, mentality, rulez, etc :- A sense of urgency...play live like the house is on fire and you cant leave till youve played your set. Jump riffs. Liking the more hardcore vocals aswel. Already reserved my album. Really looking forward to it now 💪
