@@sendlove4209Numbers don’t lie. Earl played in 8 world 9 ball and US open 9 ball championships and won all 8 including coming back from 0-3 to Reyes and winning 11-3. Reyes played in 4 won 2. In what world is that better? Earl faded faster but shined brighter in his prime.

@0:45 not even Efren could snooker Earl Strickland lol. Also Earl has 5 US opens and multiple world titles, Efren only has 1 US open and that's not even legitimate (you have to know pool history and how the US open split to 2 differ tournaments that year). Also SVB is the only other person with 5 wins, next is someone with 3 , I think Mike Sigel which efren looked up to and idolized, modeled his game after when he was young. Efren couldn't surpass his heroes (Mike). SVB Also won 3 US opens in a row, not to mention 2 world titles in a row the only human in existence to do both... that's why SVB is the true goat and even Earl Strickland will admit that.

If any of you guys here ever ever met Earl Strickland in person and actually play pool with him in person, please consider it as a treat and pleasure, and probably your honor and luck at the same time. You won’t see a character like Earl and Efren in pool anymore, and they won’t last that long anyway, so you guys better appreciate it. Earl hand down is one of the best players and shooters in pool history, also one of the brightest star in the Hall Of Fame, and the most ICONIC pool player in AMERICA. Yes, he is more on the crazy side, but that’s because of he does have some mental issue. Outside of pool, he is a cool dude that’s willing to share any story or experience with you. I don’t blame it on him, on the table he is the fighter. In pool, everyone has their own colors, and so does Earl. He stands out and unique. Thanks for the contribution to this sport. @@josephyard8651 Saying that would take away from the shot making ability of Fats. To hit those thin shots at lightning speed at a stationary ball is impressive enough, to do it at a moving target even more so. I think though, since the object ball is rolling forward, you may get away with hitting these a bit thinner and still pocket the ball.

The best I can recall. Went to see the pros play in the Denver tournament. Earl was on the table across the room from the entrance. The cue ball was close to the short rail in the center of the table and the object ball was on the short rail in the center of the table at the other end. It was like a impossible cut shot. The only difference is there was a ball in between that he had to jump. He made the shot, which he told Mike Sigel, who was playing across the room. If anybody could confirm that shot I would appreciate it. So I know that I was not losing my mind. Amazing!!

Agreed!! Commentators do that way too often right along with their terrible shot calling/predictions. They get that wrong about half the time. They should just be quiet and let us enjoy a match as if sitting there watching it live. A few commentators are excellent but that all happen to be excellent players/pros not just motormouths. But I digress. Side bar: part of me wants that shot to have been intentional (who knows what was going on in Earl's mind? You know he saw the possibility and likely kicked with a thin cut in mind just in case, eh?) simply to be poking back at Varner - a good player but for some reason I can ever get past his gobby gum chewing thing. Anyway, my two cents. Peace!

Samurai earl is good evidence that he’s misunderstood. However, I would say misunderstood is mostly right but also partially false/misleading. See, people like him, people with certain personality disorders like narcissistic personality disorder, antisocial personality disorder, and borderline personality disorder, can easily be misunderstood, however, that doesn’t mean that their actions are always or ever excused. There’s never an excuse for bad actions that hurt people, if you did something bad you did something bad of your own free will and have to own it and apologize and work on changing. People like him, and I have family members like him so I’ve had decades of experience dealing with these people, have massive egos and/or other personality defects that make it harder than normal for them to abide by social norms, it doesn’t mean they CANT or that they’re bad people or evil, it’s just harder for them. Again, not impossible so it doesn’t excuse behavior, but it helps you understand why they do and say some of the things they do. They may do something hurtful or bad, but that doesn’t always mean that their intentions were to just hurt someone or just be bad, generally the intention is to protect their egos or because they are very paranoid and always think everyone is out to hurt them always, so they’re always on high alert and dfensiveness and high action. Now, there are some people who are just bad people, so maybe earl is just bad but we don’t know cuz we don’t really know him, and there are bad people, but generally not everyone who makes mistakes is a bad person. Earl may lash out due to ego and paranoia problems, and he certainly can hurt someone or not abide by social rules or rules of a pool competition, and there’s again no excuse for those bad actions, and if you’re someone who was hurt by him or whoever then you have the absolute right to be hurt and not like him, especially if he doesn’t apologize to you and doesn’t attempt to change. But I guess that’s the main point, you can make mistakes in life, but as long as you apologize, make up for it, and change or attempt to change, you can always be forgiven and not be a bad person. If you don’t change and don’t make up for anything, then we’ll that’s different. But generally I would guess earl doesn’t mean to be intentionally harmful or a bad person, his intentions I think are generally to protect himself through protecting his ego and his paranoia influences him a lot. Personality disorders are very difficult not just for the people around them but for them themselves, it makes it very hard to make normal rational acceptable choices, very hard, but yes not impossible and you still have free will and are responsible for your actions. Just a little psychology lesson / philisophical way to look at these things, it’s just interesting, take it with a grain of salt. Some people are just bad people but don’t judge until you know.

"made Efren", how do you mean? By letting him win or? Efren made it all by himself mate, and with respect and humility towards his opponents too.
