Ain’t worth much if it never runs though. I’ll take my modern bike with traction controls and a reliable engine any day.

That's not "problems with a shovel" that's a day in the life of a shovel. With a shovel you "just never know" but hey that's all part of what's to love.

Looks like a good place to ride. Minimal traffic. Love that tank too. I've got a 75 Iron I'm working on.

I have owned shovels for the last 38 years, before that pommie bikes as that's all I could afford. If you look after them like any machine they'll look after you.

It's all in the carburetor you need a vacuum gauge to tune it. Very finicky. Also it's a good idea to update the ignition system on those they were always s***

With that bike, one of many things, needs to be gone thru. But it wasn’t the wiring. Tired motor.

I have a 74 gets a lil hot n cuts off if cools down a bit will run for another 10 n cuts off again

Adding an oil cooler makes a big difference!

The only problem I saw was the guy killed the engine taking off from a dead stop. That ain't the bikes fault. It started on the first kick so I fail to see what mechanical problem it has.

A couple months after this video, engine came completely out and was completely rebuilt due to everything was completely worn. So yeah. Shovelhead problems.
