Early Arrival FDNY make quick work of heavy fire on 1st Floor while being harassed by a resident

First of all I just wanna commend the members operating on how well they kept their composure and stuck to their duties while having a resident from the building scream and yell at them. Let me just point out how quickly they had water on the fire. I arrived with the first due units and within 2 minutes the fire was completely knocked down. 95% of onlookers have no idea about firefighting operations and clearly this guy was angry his building was on fire. The members did well on the way they handled this.

The guy screaming really needs to cool his Jets, as you can hear in the radio traffic they have a confirmed person trapped, the truck company or rescue company is working on getting into the building to rescue the victim while the engine company is starting to do a knockdown on the fire, all in less than 3 minutes and they had water on the Fire. Excellent job by the brothers in the FDNY

That resident doesn't understand that firefighters don't jump off of the truck with hoses in-hand, as they've seen in action movies. Focus on fire prevention, and let the firefighters do their jobs.

Another good stop by the FDNY . Cool Calm And Collective. Ignore the loud mouth with no clue how the operation works. If you think you can do the job better apply. Otherwise stay out of the way so the professionals can do their job. No reasoning with some individuals.

That fire should have been completely extinguished by putting tank water through that window, LONG, before this video started. Like most FDNY fires. The structure was threatened, any victims were threatened, and the entering firefighters were threatened, by allowing the fire to burn, grow and extend while they took the TIME to go inside to fight what they walked by on the outside.

putting water on a fire from the outside does nothing but push the fire, heat, and smoke back into the building. This puts more risk on not only the firefighters trying to get to the fire, but to the residents inside the building, and may even allow the fire to spread further throughout the building. If you listen to the radio report you'll hear them report heavy clutter inside the apartment. Look up "collier's mansion" This is a condition that has killed many firefighters and residents in the past and is one of the most dangerous things you can face as a firefighter.

Even more reason to extinguish it from the exterior. Every livable space in a residential structure has to have at least one egress window so you are more than likely to have exterior access to the burning material.
