Best of luck with your job interview! I recommend listening to the podcasts about early childhood education, e.g. Early Childhood Show and Early Childhood Nerd, they help to learn the key language , expressions and the terminology. I also recommend to read EYLF and highlight the key words. In terms of key expressions for ECE I am trying to create a manual and will share it on my website!

I'm glad I found your channel so helpful and insightful. I am looking for ECT casual work and maybe fulltime once I have more experience. I find writing is so challenging and I hate using excuse of English is my second language and UNI is not a place to prepare you for workforce. What is your best advice? I feel like it would be the only stressful thing for me.

Dear Hsa, I think the best way to get the casual work is to sign up with the agency. For example, I work for Randstad education. I think your English is fantastic! It will only become better with practice. What helped me is listening to podcasts, watching videos and talking (using the new expressions in the context of work).

How can we go for Admin rolls in childcare? Which qualification we need? Can we start from educator and after some experience we can move in admin rolls in childcare?
@Storykate
@Storykate Жыл бұрын
Hi Kawaljeet, you can apply for admin roles without direct experience with children. You need to know some software though like Quickkids and have admin experience. To become a director though, educator needs to work for quite a few years in early childhood education and care.

Hello, I have a question… In 2017 I took a cert III but I wasn’t able to do any work due to some health issues. I am doing better now and would like to work casually. If I was to join an agency, what questions am I to expect during interviews? English is my second language so your help would be appreciated. Thanks
@Storykate

Hi Sobia, It would be very similar questions, but the list would be shorter. In agencies, you typically are given a scenario which requires you to consider a child with challenging behaviour or they may ask you what would you do to extend child's play and learning. Good luck with the agency interview!

I recon if you answered every question in an interview poorly you would still get the job as the sector is in such crisis with a lack of educators!

There is a shortage of educators , indeed. Yet, the interview at exceeding centres and reputable ELCs is still quite an important step for getting a job.

@@Storykate I live on the central coast NSW and that is not the case here, the centre I worked at for 15 years is exceeding and you’de have to interview extremely poorly to not get a job they are looking for 4 educators minimum . The centre I’m at now is looking for a 2ic diploma offering 34 to $40 an hour and can’t find anyone. But I understand for new people who have limited knowledge of the industry it is good to review potential interview questions 😊

@@rachelkillcare5203 I’ve heard that NSW centres conditions do not often match Victorian . Is it true ?
