Have you ever check the front yard of a apartment complex? I searched just 30% of the one small yard at my son's complex... 50 x 30' and found 23 coins so far... some ,of the coins were 8+" at of trash too and deep rebarb in a few spots. X-Terra Pro

I Traded a DeWalt drill For a Winbest Barska - Elite Edition Metal Detector. They are about 200bucks i know nothing about metal detectors ive used it twice at a wild beach didn't find anything but trash and a fishing weight im waiting for my bag and a few tools to show up and im head down to a somewhat popular beach. Im jw is that a good one to start with

I'm not familiar with that model but if you're still finding stuff on beach sand that's a good sign that your detector is at least somewhat beach stable. Bury some test targets in various types of ground and see how it reacts so you can learn your machine, you don't need a fancy machine to get going - I started with a Radioshack Micronta 3001 haha! If you start getting really into the hobby and want to upgrade, check out the Minelab Vanquish product line. I've also seen people have good results with the new version of the Minelab X-Terra Pro.
