Early Morning Solo Hike, Yelland North Devon England UK

While out for a early morning hike, i was surprised to see so many wrecked and abandoned boats on this stretch of beach which is close to my home.. Some were tied up, but looked like they had been there for years, and somehow forgotten about.. You don't often come across many people in this part of Yelland, as it's not what i would call on the tourist trail, so only the locals would know this area i would imagine.. This stretch of the beach is behind Isley Marsh, and one can access the Marsh from the "Tarka Trail"...

Hi Carl. Thanks for the peaceful video. The bird songs give it a tranquil feeling. An interesting round building. It seems unusual that the boats are just dragged onto the beach and left to rust. If the beach is public property, I'm surprised the authorities haven't removed them. Or that someone hasn't simply stolen the boats and sold them for scrap metal etc... How fascinating to see all those abandoned boats and you are right about it being off the tourist route, all the years we’ve visited North Devon we’ve never heard of Yelland. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻

Wow, neat seeing the old sail boat! It must have washed up due to a storm and then abandoned I suppose. Oh wow, and then you came across that other boat as well. Boat graveyard on that beach!

Now I know where boats go to die Carl. They go to your local beach. I have to say they add character. Just a thought. I wonder if fiber glass has any recycle value...if so there might be a few quid on that beach. Nice walk Carl....It looked ideal conditions. Have a great week. Mark
