I've watched around 4 videos of yours, and all I can say is that you are obviously a very caring and wonderful mother. I don't think you realise how lovely it is to watch such a natural mother see her children for who they are rather than who they should be. I have alot of anxiety issues about my child (18 months) having autism (it runs in my family) but watching your videos makes me realise that even if he does, children all have they're own way of growing, and that they deserve love and care regardless. Keep going mama, you are amazing.

I am a pediatric OT..and the part about going home and practicing tasks observed in therapy is EXACTLY right. Kids whose parents do this literally double/triple their progress rate.

Its definitely why I think Liam walked and crawled much earlier than Noah. They only get 30 min with the therapist but if we can take what they are teaching them and implement it at home it helps so much. The therapist tries things that I would've never tried or thought of

My daughter is 3 years old,speech is delayed,toe walking when she is excited.Good eye contact and good receptive language.Play with other kids,pretend play,,ask her needs and wants,but speech is delayed I concerned. Can you please help me

@@achuzjithinvadakkedathu5783 she's fine.. As long as she communicates well and she's trying to talk to you in a way where you can decipher what she's trying to say.. my daughter is the same.. Her speech gets better everyday and I help her in pronouncing her words and formulate her sentences. Remember that every child develops at a different rate.

Any updates on your daughter going through the same with my son his speech is delayed and doesn’t put sentences together and has maybe 30 words. He pretend plays and plays with others fine and makes good eye contact he just gets easily upset which I’m guessing is from his lack of words to communicate his needs immediately.

I want to thank you for creating videos like this. I have always had that same feeling that you talk about when you knew something was wrong. My 2yr old son has not been diagnosed with autism yet, but we are currently going through the screening/evaluation process. My family is in denial & doesn't want to believe that he is autistic, but I know that he is. He has way too many signs. Stimming, speech delay, social/behavioral issues, etc... Early intervention can make such a difference. It's all about helping the child. Your videos help me understand autism and make me feel that I'm not alone in this. God bless you and your family 💕

He reminds me so much of my son Cole, who also has Autism. Cole did SO MANY of those same things at that age.. they are very similar. Cole is doing amazing now! He just turned 4 years old and he's far exceeded our expectations... I hope that gives you some hope. Liam is such a sweetheart and I'm so glad that he's getting therapy from such a young age. ❤

I love your videos. I have 4 children and my youngest son Ender was just diagnosed with Autism. He is 4.5 years old. I’ve never dealt with anything like this so I was clueless to the signs and my dr just chalked it up to him being the last child. He had no real signs no regression he was just speech delayed. He didn’t call me mom until he was 3 years old. I’m so glad you found out this early, an early start on therapy for him is amazing. You are doing an amazing job mama!

Thank you for this video. My son is 6 and just went through IQ testing. We have been given a preliminary diagnosis of high functioning autism and I have been really worried about it. Your channel is so encouraging. Looking back we had a lot of these same things when my son was little but I had no idea they weren’t normal

Good for you. Get your local school district involved (heavily.) They are (rarely) the perfect solution but they are there for you.

My daughter was diagnosed with autism and moderate learning difficulties at 18 months. I had suspected much earlier. She is celebrating her 30th birthday this year, it has been very hard as a single parent but so rewarding seeing her grow into the person she is today., I am so proud of her achievements, she continues to surprise me every day

Wow. What an amazing Mum. So articulate, self aware and able to identify the small things that are easy to miss as a parent. Autism is like a jigsaw puzzle, much easier to recognise when complete but a mystery in the making. I have a 16 year old ASD ‘jumper’ who had some of the characteristics of Liam. He’s a great boy but it’s been a long struggle. Good luck!

My personal belief...your'e doing everything right! It's all about early intervention and the earlier you can diagnose them, the better so that you can get the help needed! Thank you for this channel. I definitely feel trusting your gut is the best. I was on the other side. Everyone who aren’t qualified, tried to tell me he has Autism because of his speech delay. So I searched out a Two specialists. Both decided my son did not. so now we are trying to find a reason for the delay. In my case Autism isn’t the answer. Way to go on trusting yourself and your gut.

I don’t know why I got so emotional watching this . My son was diagnosed in June . Everything you said was spot on with my son . He will be 3 in November. I’m still struggling with his diagnosis even though I knew from the day he was born something was off with him . It’s been a adjustment lately since he’s getting older and more frustrated that I’m not able to understand him or tell me what he wants and needs . You’re channel is helping me a lot .

You rock Stephanie! Thank you for explaining everything regarding Liam’s diagnosis in so much detail. Breaking stigmas and educating others is something you should be incredibly proud of achieving. Such a hard and time consuming thing to do when your already a mother to a large fam and make time to create videos like this one. The low muscle tone video would be beneficial to many I would think. When my son was diagnosed with low muscle tone at 7 days old I really didn’t know what that actually meant for him. Low muscle tone also has a spectrum, my son has always been very tiny and had underdeveloped muscles. He has always been very underweight part of the low muscle tone and his diagnosis. He had absolutely no head control which was noticed shortly after birth. That was really scary as a new mother working out the best way to pick up, carry and hold a newborn who had such a floppy head with no neck control. Something I will be hyper aware of and looking out for when our next bub arrives in about 4 weeks time.

My youngest is 17months.. more and more each day I have the sinking feeling we may be going through the same thing... here in UK he won’t be picked up till his 2 year review even though he failed most his milestones at his last check. Hes displaying alot of the same characteristics that Liam has including the same stims... filled with dread as my middle child is very full on requiring a lot of my attention. Holding my breath for the future. Thanks for the insightful videos though x x

Try the MChat checklist that’s so helpful. I’m from the uk, get him on a waiting list asap as it’s a looong waiting list. I feel you with the needing the constant attention. My nearly 3 year old is like a 1 year old. She kicks off constantly. I’m always stressed but we will get there!

My son's 18 month appointment was yesterday and his pediatrician has referred us to neurologist for a definitive diagnosis. I knew this was coming. I've been noticing signs for a while now. But one small thing in this video stuck out to me... the jumping! My son is OBSESSED with jumping. He loves to shake his head too while he jumps. I thought he was just being silly. 😮 Thank you for making this. It's helped ease my nerves so much.

To help him sleep better at night, try a weighted blanket. One of my clients went from waking up 3-4x at night to sleeping through the night.

My 6 year old daughter has Pica so she eats so many things that aren't food.... its really hard, so I feel you on that.

@@OurLANDingCrew8 her behavioral therapist is working with her on it. Her iron levels were normal as well so it definitely wasn't that. She will be getting her autism evaluation next month so I was told they would look in to how it may be related to autism or sensory processing. In the meantime I try to make sure she has plenty of access to things she can snack on or chew on (she still uses baby teethers quite a bit). I do supplement magnesium but it seems to not have helped much but I wouldn't rule it out as an option if you haven't tried it. I wish I could be more help!

This is the first video I've seen that relates to my situation very closely. I also had 2 babies within 17 months. In my case it is my baby who is on the spectrum and I denied it up until 18 months and when I started to be honest with myself, I realized what had been present since birth. He's autistic. My other 4 children are perfectly "normal" I used quotes there because im not sure what the word "normal" is to be honest. My son also shakes his head in the same exact way your son does. Also the same sleeping patterns (better now though). My son lines up his cars, lines up his food, lines up everything. I feel blessed to have experienced this because before I did, I was ignorant, I thought autism children were something other people had. So I am happy to have woken up. I think your a wonderful mom. My great nephew was diagnosed at 4 with autism. He is verbal but does a lot of stemming and talks in a robotic tone. He is 9 now doing well in school. But I noticed when he was two something wasn’t quite right. Finally I suggested that he had autism. Carried him to doctor and when he walked in room he never looked up or acknowledged he came in. Her 8th month old looked up the minute he walked in. He said he knew. Anywho... good luck I know your plate is full.

I love your videos. They are very informative and useful. I like to watch to see how my 18 month old grandson is doing. He is not cuddly with any one EXCEPT his parents. He seemed disinterested in me but he’s more lively with his cousins and aunt. He’s started nursery school bc his mom went back to work part time. To my utter surprise he adjusted very well and now he’s more inclined to show affection to me. BTW, you are amazing that you speak so fast and SO CLEARLY. I’m a native New Yorker so I LOVe FAST TALKERS

My first bio baby was incredibly complacent. He was soooo easy. The only time he was happy being held was with my mom and me. We didn’t overwhelm him. He talked very early - complete sentences.

Where I live it was a up hill battle to get the right type of Doctor and to get her the diagnoses that she has. It took 17 years!

Thank you so much for posting this. I think my 15 month old is very similar. My other 2 kiddos were so much farther ahead then my youngest. She doesn't talk, she's SO calm, she doesn't point/clap/wave, she doesn't interact with others, she doesn't cuddle.... :( I'm trying to not get upset but it's alot to process. I'm going to get her evaluated

Thanks so much for this video! My son is on the spectrum. It became more obvious the older he got (he's almost 5 now). I also have a 1 year old daughter who so far doesn't seem to be. I love my son to pieces but he has some behaviors that are quite difficult and so it's kind of exciting to see my girl being affectionate, showing me things etc. my son was also very chill which was a symptom that we missed for a while since it was (if I'm honest) convenient for us (like, he would sit and look out the window in the car without needing to be entertained. My daughter on the other hand..! 😂) Anyway, I'm still figuring out this whole special needs parenting thing and it's hard and lonely and no one in my life (including my husband 😩) really seems to "get it" so I'm grateful for your channel. ❤️
