Early Winter Bull Tahr Hunting - Main Divide Southern Alps New Zealand 2020

This video follows Chris and Raddy high into the Southern Alps as they search for Raddy's first Bull Tahr. With 6 days available to hunt and a good weather forecast for the week we were bloody excited for the trip. Watch along as we explore into some breathtaking country with steep mountainous terrain dominating the landscape. Nice shooting Raddy congrats on ya first two Tahr mate I've seen a couple of these vids now, where you like wading thru them shale rivers in bare feet to keep them dry.... even with a full pack on lol cracks me up, tough feet lol

Nice trip there fellas. Some serious country back in there ... you also have some great common sense in regards to knowing your limits in that sort of terrain. That's awesome to see in two (relatively) young blokes. I'm liking your edits too. Cheers, Matt.

Awesome video! Have you heard of Vorn backpacks? Look into them, awesome rifle backpacks with quick release function. Bought mine couple of seasons ago and will never go back. I mainly hunt chamois in the Swiss Alps and navigating steep/blocky terrain with this backpack is a charm!

Cheers mate! Will have to have a look into them, recently just treated myself to a new Tatonka bison pack- bloody comfy and has heaps of room. Chris will be looking for a new pack soon though

In th UK - mainly small game and occasionally deer. Will be looking to do some bow hunting if I make it to NZ (its not legal here unfortunately), would love to harvest a red deer with my recurve!

@@barrone10001 you'd absolutely love it over here then, the southern alps are much more impressive in person. Always had in interest in bow hunting, might have to give it a go in the future, good luck to you!

Yeah if everything comes together I'll be heading into the wilderness for a week or so, it'll be a completely different challenge to stalking roe deer on farmland. I'm hoping to spend at least 5 weeks in NZ, so I might even be able to do a bit of solo hunting and explore the Mackauly or Cobb valleys 🤞
