Dale Sr. was very patient!! He was the best. He always talked patience and that is the number 1 Rule of a Champion.. though it may be hard to detect the patients of a driver when they're going 200 mph.

Sr. "intimidated" Jr. if you could believe that! Oh, if only Sr. were still alive during the remainder of Jr's Cup Career, things would've (or could've) been very interesting. And maybe, just maybe Jr would've been Cup Series Champ, maybe more than once. Also Sr. might've gotten his 8th or 9th Cup Trophies by now!🎉

That’s true, Dale was everything but patient when he started racing. However, when Dale senior taught Junior how to save his equipment to the end of the race.. that was priceless. Dale senior had gone through the tough lessons personally. I recall watching senior and Junior racing together. 😎

He was 9 laps down because Sr. wrecked him and Elliott Sadler in the first 5 laps of the race. That's why Jr. dragged his car down the side of his, he was pissed.

Legend has it that when Jr. was born, the doctor was taking too long to deliver him, so Dale just reached in and pulled his son out of the womb. Even managed to leave a tire rub mark in there.

@@MoterSport33 The car wasn't the MAJOR problem, resisting safety measures that could have saved lives was what killed so many. After Dale, the same safety measures that COULD POSSIBLY have saved his life, were implemented and since then, saved many a driver. In saying that, this generation of NASCAR was indeed MUCH MUCH more exciting in my opinion.

The guy is 48 running near the top ten at the original Bristol. People tend to forget just how old he was in the mid to late 90s. No driver has came close to being that competitive at that age in the modern era.

Not to mention.. he wasn't just riding in 11th .. he started further back and drove thru field in this race without aby weird strategy to gain track position and had taken the lead and then a lapped car wrecked in front of him. So the record shows he finished like 30th that day but the race was gonna be a cake walk win for Sr. That was the best car he had that whole year.

That call was incorrect.... I was at that race listening to them both on the scanner, Jr. doored Sr. on the straight away on purpose for wrecking him and Elliott Sadler at the beginning of the race.... Sr. was very unhappy about it on the radio LOL

I was there that race, too! Dale was HOT on the in-car, shouting at his spotter, "tell him to calm the fuck down or I'm pullin' his stupid ass out of that car." "Ten-four." "I'm not kidding. You BETTER tell him." "Ten-four. Message sent." "Don't fuckin' lie to me." "I told his spotter, Dale." Everyone around us with headsets listening just about lost it! God, I miss Big E.

Dale Sr had that race won that day.. that's a race that would have made the championship between he and Labonte a lot more close as season wore down. He drove from back innpack to the lead without aby funky strategy , just a bad ass fast car and then whike leading a lapped car wrecked in front of him and caught him in it. Instead of winning he ended up outside top 30.

I remember at talladega jr was starting the race behind his father. As they were getting the green flag jr was on srs butt. Sr break checked jr and jr had to slam on the breaks to avoid him and locked them up. Jr had to pit on the first lap. Junebug learned a lesson from his old man that day the hard way.

The Start \Finish line is always on the front stretch. Turns 1 and 2 are after you cross the S/F line, turns 3 and 4 are before you cross S/F line. Hope that helps.
