There are some great moments of Crisis, but I do think Oliver's death could have been handled _a lot_ better; and even just the lead up to Crisis could have been done better across the different shows. It's been ages since I've seen any of this stuff now - all of it is from "the before time"... But I do remember, first off, just so much heavy-handed teasing of Oliver's death the whole season prior to Crisis; and then his arc during Crisis felt really rushed. I think they should have had him die earlier in the season and use the majority of those episodes to build the next of that story going into Crisis. And it's the same thing with this version of Wells (was it Nash? It's hard to keep track anymore) becoming Pariah, and Lylah becoming Harbinger. It just happens and it feels like the story relies heavily on the audience knowing who they're supposed to be from the comics. Even over on the Flash, if as I recall, the characters did a lot of handwringing about Barry's impending death/disappearance during the upcoming "Crisis," but they spent so much time on a completely unrelated story, that it all it felt like squandered opportunities to build the narrative toward this event. Supergirl and Batwoman... I was watching it a the time, and I honestly don't really remember hardly any of it. Other than being very annoyed by Lena's reaction to learning about Kara. It felt very cliches and forced drama. If anyone should have not just figured out it (conceit of the simplicity of the disguise notwithstanding), but would also understand the reason and even support her, it arguably should have been Lena. It would have been so much better if her reaction was simply, "I know" and move on.

They also had a tie-in comic that took place during these events. I can't remember if it was 1 or 2 comics.

Honestly first time I watched this year's ago I malded so bad over how Oliver died and that it was in the 1st episode...

They saw Endgame end with killing of the chariter that started the universe and the Arrowverse said "I can top that."

I think it was a mistake to kill off Oliver in part 1. It's so early that the audience knows that this isn't actually the last we'll see of him and thus we don't feel the emotion that we should watching Oliver die.

I think I loved Lena's character until the season 5 writing basically just made her a female Lex with his mindless power trips. By that time there was really no way to tell the story to get the audience to see any "hurt" Lena was suffering, all the audience was being told is she was Lex. Granted it's a CW show and you can't expect too much depth.

Fun Fact: This episode actually has a major writing error in it. This episode retconned the events of the Legends episode Star City 2046. Instead of taking place in the Future of Earth-1 it seemingly took place on Earth-16. Normally this retcon wouldn't be a problem but Earth-16 Oliver doesn't seem to recognize Sara. During the Star City 2046 episode Oliver knew exactly who Sara was and only mentioned that she never came back AFTER joining the Legends. But this Oliver is convinced that Sara died when the Gambit went down. So this raises the question. What happened to the timeline of Earth-16 to change it so drastically that Earth-16 Oliver wouldn't recognize Sara anymore? The answer is nothing. This is just a classic example of a writing blunder. This is made extra funny by the fact that Sara says: You're a good man Oliver. On ANY Earth. As if the events of Crisis on Earth-X never happened hahaha.
