In 2019 Earth celebrate their 30th year anniversary as a band. Before their show in Berlin, we talked with Dylan Carlson and Adrienne Davies about “Full Upon Her Burning Lips”. The latest Earth full-length, focusses on the humanity of Carlson and Davies, both in its outstanding cover art and in the intimacy of its compositions.

One of the very, very few bands I never get tired of listening. Most of their albums, especially the more mature/latest ones are pure magic for the ears. They really have a true unique style and inimitable aesthetics in their music, for me evoking in each listening a dusty old town at dusk, muscle car parked under a sizzling bar neon bar sign, pine trees collecting sand in the wind… Such a great unique band.

What's your favorite album of theirs? Or your couple/few favorites? I only know "The Bees Made Honey in the Lion's Skull" well. I have the 2xLP of it.

I absolutely love their honesty and originality and how whether it's in their music or personalities it always comes through completely and they remain true to themselves and the music.They are such a wonderfully fresh and intuitive group and I love them for that as well.Thank you EARTH🙂🎸🎶☮️🎵🤘⚡💀❤️

Just heard an interview on this Grateful Dead fan podcast and he says he got sober in 2020. Wonder if he meant got off methadone or subs or what. I just dont see him getting too into fent since he had done so much H and knows how much fent sucks compared to fent

Lorsque je vois Dylan je ne peux m'empêcher à Kurt... Qu'aurait-il proposé comme musique à ce jour? Quoiqu'il en soit ce nouvel album d'Earth est toujours dans la lignée des précédents. Chapeau bas pour les 30 ans.

When I see Dylan Kurt does come to mind but the person that comes to mind even more so is Mark Lanegan because those two shared a bond that was really much deeper and close.If not for the fact that their friendship had more of a chance to develop more deeply because of Kurt's death but Lanegan and Kurt were also very good friends.Dylan and Mark's friendship existed from early on and saw a lot of their best friends taken by heroin or other things and though Kurt was obviously a great loss of a close friend for both Dylan and Mark there were others who are just as missed.
