Earth Pony Magic Theory gen 4 and Gen 5

Sorry about this video being late. Everyone I had to finish 10th grade up. Any way I hope you enjoyed this theory. Just remember I am not claiming to be 100% correct or any thing just theorizing about a franchise I love.

I actually miss how relatively unimpressive a lot of the magic was in G1. Fizzy can make bubbles, Galaxy can make her horn light up and generate small amounts of heat, etc.-neat tricks, and they come in handy under some very specific circumstances, but it otherwise doesn't put them that far ahead of their earth pony friends. If anything, their ability to wink in and out through space was the closest G1 unicorns came to being OP, but even that had limitations...a simple rope net is a G1 unicorn's worst enemy. XD Of course, I'm not saying that it wasn't cool to occasionally see unicorns and alicorns blasting out horn lasers willy-nilly during some of G4's action scenes, but sometimes less is more.

Counterpoint; the unicorn characters we follow specifically study magic, and have cutie marks related to it. Other unicorns are shown to be substantially less powerful, like rarity(one could argue that she is more powerful than the norm for a unicorn too).

"Terran Ponies" are called "Earth Ponies" because their powers are attuned to the (fertile) soil of Equestria. -> In the Crystal Empire, there is no "ground", "dirt" or "soil"; only ICE (crystalline water) & silicon dioxide (crystalline sand); so they instead are attuned to it (becoming "Crystal Ponies"). . If a colony of Earth Ponies were sent TO SPACE... they will eventually attune to the regolith (if they are on the Moon), or to the Solar Wind (if they stay in the actual "space SPACE"). -> Earth Ponies forced to float on an endless Ocean Planet (kilometers deep water, no land), would NOT turn into "seaponies", but rather become Water-benders ("Water Ponies"); likely also able to mimic shapeshifting by freezing water (transparent or opaque, at will); by absorbing or releasing thermal energy.

I’ve always believed that some earth ponies receive either (or sometimes all) enhanced strength, longer stamina or faster running speed which is why they are expert farmers.

I always perceived G4 Earth Pony magic as being centered around Harmony. Their harmony with their own bodies lets them live longer lives. Their harmony with the Earth lets them understand how to grow crops faster and even lets some of them have special senses. Their harmony with their family lets them be a lot closer - for example, Twilight Sparkle and Shining Armor are only close to each other by Unicorn Pony standards, but are not close by Earth Pony metrics. Lastly, their harmony with their community may lead to them founding more cities; I'm not so sure about the last one. Thanks for addressing the topic of Earth Pony magic; I feel it's a badly neglected subject.

Like not every unicorn is like Starlight Glimmer and not every pegasus is like Rainbow Dash, not every earth pony is like Maud Pie. It's interesting that Twilight also got this magic when she became an alicorn. In The Hooffields and McColts, she prepares saddlebags for herself and Fluttershy, and doesn't realize how heavy they are because of her super strength. And in G5... I guess now every earth pony is Gloriosa Daisy from Equestria Girls. Except they can spawn plants instantly anywhere, even in stone or water... sure, whatever.

[Trivia] Gloriosa Daisy is an earth pony. She can be seen (briefly) in the FiM Season 6 opener (looking down from the 4th Floor of the Crystal Castle) through the holes made by Flurry Heart´s first "DEATH BEAM" of destruction. . In G5 the plants are not magically "grown", but MADE literally "out of thin air" (from the carbon dioxide & water dissolved in it); this is also how they can be "un-made" (the greatest achievement of Hitch Trailblazer: to convince the earth ponies of Maretime Bay to "erase life" with their new magical powers). -> This ability is restricted to non-sapient, non-sentient lifeforms (it should also work with fungi & colonies of microbes/bacteria); because it is NOT "necromancy" [only Discord has shown this "type", when he resurrected Sombra]. Furthermore: In Season 2 of Tell Your Tale, Hitch managed to create an "evolution chamber" inside of one of his bigger plants (at the "flower"), using it to extract the chaos magic of Sparky out of a "Golem" he made (the "cake dragon"), plus creating a plushie out of cotton_like plant fibers [a creative use of his "plant" powers]. -> Pegasi are seriously "underpowered" right now in terms of flexibility of magic (the counter is that flying is "awesome" & they "could" just simply extract the air out of the lungs of other ponies [yeah... DARK!]).

The other option, thinking genetically. Any pony can offspring with any other. Being recessive or dominant, its still a part. So even with all ponies having a inheritance to magic, all the unicorn mixing bloodlines over the millennia would have boosted other tribe traits/magic.

Hasbro doesn't care. If they want magic, they always use "alicorn princess" card, or Rainbow Power card. I'm pretty sure Earth Pony Magic came from creator side, not from executive side.
