I’ve all 3 versions ☺️ I started with the alpha as I had a foot injury and needed more cushioning. I wear those for running. The circadian and elemental feel pretty similar in terms of ground feel. I actually prefer the elemental as the rubber footbed is easier to clean and dry out. Sand and bits of grass tend to stick to the textured canvas surface more than the rubber. Aesthetically I also think the black rubber looks cool. I have the comfort ergonomic laces. The laces are definitely conductive - test with a magnet to find out!

Earthing is not the exact same thing as Grounding. Grounding is one facet of Earthing, but Earthing includes much more benefits than just the grounding aspect of it. Both are beneficial. Actual Earthing is more beneficial. A square is a rectangle, but not every rectangle is a square.

You made a great case for these sandals. I tried hiking sandals several years ago, but lost them before I had a chance to use them much. Since then, I have enjoyed the zero drop world of trail runners and have been using Altra's Lone Peak series. I love the more minimal feel even though I am a 230# man. I have since explored earthing. It works! I have less back pain because I earth at night. I have always wanted to be able to take earthing to the trails with me, but the only way is to use one of those elastic straps on my foot and clamped to a tent stake... that's fine for recovery, but I wanted the option to hike during the day... sometime 10 or more hours and not have the fatigue from the foot pain. I ordered the Alpha Adventure sandal to see if it can work with my hiking. Maybe not the entire day, but maybe as a switch out during the day. Who knows... this is a new relationship with footwear; so I will have to figure out what is best. At least I will have a great 3 season sandal for my scooting around my state of Florida. Again... thank you for your video, and the discount code!

You’re welcome! I do think they could be a good alternate for long hikes - I’ve taken mine before to switch from normal hiking shoes because I love the feeling of not being cramped in a shoe and you get such a good feel for the ground. Just be cautious because the open toe makes it easy to stub a toe or get a cut. I usually only take them on simple hikes so I don’t have to worry about that, at least if I’m trying to move quickly.

@@RenewalFitCoach I am thinking of doing a flip flop on the AT this year. If I do, then I would try them out there. I might have to break in my legs long before that b/c the sandals will be very different kinetics than my Altras. Thank you for replying...

@@kicktree Have you ever read more about barefoot walking/running and why it’s beneficial? Flip flops aren’t good for the feet. @@RenewalFitCoach I have some knowledge about flip flops and how they force toes to clinch. LOL my flip flop referral was meant to describe a pattern of backpacking a long trail. When a hiker flip flops a trail, he starts in the middle then hikes to one terminus. Then finds a way back to the middle and hikes to the other terminus. Its a popular pattern on the Appalachian Trail. Oh my... I have to be careful of my terminology regarding footwear!!! LOL and peace.

I just got my pair today. I took them out and tested to see if I was grounded. Sad to say I could not get the light to stay on. I'm going to test them the next day and see if the light works on ground and then test them out on sidewalk. I also could not get the light to stay on wearing the socks they provide. I'll test that again the next day. I noticed that Holly did not test to see if she was grounded with wearing them. I would like to know if any others tested these sandals to see if they were grounded when wearing them with socks and without socks.

@RenewalFitCoach
@RenewalFitCoach 9 ай бұрын
Good question. I rarely get gravel in the shoes but it does happen, especially if I’m on a dirt trail. Surprisingly it’s not as bad as you might think, but it may also depend on foot shape and how a person walks. It can be a bit annoying but it’s so rare for me that’s it’s not a big deal.

Sorry for the delayed response, I didn’t get a notification for your comment. All of the laces are good for hiking and running in my opinion, but the company seems to recommmed the adventure laces for hiking because they’re most sturdy. I would be least likely to use the ergonomic sandals for long hikes just because they’re softer and thinner, but I have done short hikes in them. All depends on how sensitive your feet are and how strenuous the hike is

@@RenewalFitCoachI have two pairs of Xero and really wanted to like them (especially that I used to live close to the company hq). The ideas and general design is good, but the soles are horrendous regarding traction. They slip so much that I don't feel I can trust them on even minimally adventurous places. Wet rocks? Forget about it. I'm about to buy my second pair of Earth Runners after over 3.5 years on my Circadians. The place finally broke out of the plug on one, but a local cobbler (in Nepal currently) fixed it in just a few minutes for next to nothing :) But they are very worn and it's time for a fresh pair. I was thinking of maybe the Primal (new version of Elemental) hoping that the rubber foot bed would be more traction in water on the foot. But after hearing the fabric actually provides better traction, I'll stick with them I feel. It's really my only concern while wearing them, other than that they're a 10/10 for me and I've never trusted a shoe to grip as much as my Circadian. It's worth so much to be able to trust your shoe while doing some crazy rock hopping! Earth Runners for the win 😊

Maybe. You're better off digging a shallow hole, like what an animal might dig out quick on a hot day to lie in. You're trying to connect to a current that is obstructed by grass or cement. You want your feet on the "body" of the earth. Research a little more and you'll get a better answer

What a good idea. I just got a meter and I have a pair of sandals made by attaching an earthrunners strap to a xero shoes sole. Tried them out with an earthing mat. Basically didn't work. I can get a connection only very briefly by moving my foot around and pressing down. Might possibly work better with an earthrunners sole as they're firmer, but the copper was touching the mat, so I doubt it. Fortunately doesn't matter too much to me: this strap and sole together are still a comfortable sandal for me and when I can I'll go fully barefoot.

@@RenewalFitCoach No, there's a copper plug. The plug's attached to the earthrunner strap, which I use with the Xero shoes sole. And the mat is grounded: the meter shows that if I step on it with bare feet. But I don't know. Maybe somehow the strap would work better with an earthrunner sole. I'd say, get one of the meters yourself. They're cheap and easy to use and I think it's probably a good idea to have one to test any product that claims to ground you.

These look like great sandals. The only hesitation I have is that copper tab on the bottom. I don't believe in that "grounding" theory. It's definitely not a scientific concept. Is there any way you can take off that copper tab and replace it w/ something else? If not, does that copper influence the grip? i.e., does it make you slip sometimes, like when you're walking on the street or even off road on large rocks?
@RenewalFitCoach

I copper part is attached to the laces. I would think it could be removed but I think it holds the laces in place. You’d have to ask Earth Runners. It’s never caused slipping for me and you don’t feel it at all. There is research and science behind grounding but it’s not as studied and scientifically backed as more modern medicine concepts. It seems to hugely benefit some people and not work so well for others. But if you just like the sandals you can leave the plug and probably won’t notice it. I honestly wear them more for the comfort and flexibility than any grounding benefits. I don’t notice drastic benefits form the copper.
