Chorus:
And, oh, after the love has gone
How could you lead me on
And not let me stay around?
Oh, oh, oh, after the love has gone
What used to be right is wrong
Can love that's lost be found?

Let me lay some facts on you my fellow KZfaq Listeners: This song was written b y David Foster, Jay Graydon and Bill Chaplin. It was first offered to the duo group " Hall & Oates."At the time they were not interested in recording any music that wasn't written by them. When D. Foster presented to Maurice White, he gave the song a thumbs up. Verdine White, brother of Maurice White, stated that it was the most difficult song they had ever recorded. They felt the vibe had to be right in order to pull it off. He went on to say they recorded 6 to 7 times before M. White said that's it. Thats the one. It found its way to #2 on Billboards 100 list in 1979 for 2 weeks. It took home 2 Grammy's. Best R&B duo or a group and Best R&B song Grammy for composers D. Foster and J. Graydon. And now you know. Lol

I am 21, and still jamming out to this song. This song reminds me of my mom, she...unfortunately succumbed to colon cancer back in 2013. Every time I hear this song, it would make me sad, because she was my mom, she might've not been a good mom to yall, but to me, she was a great mom. She told me to be happy, she told me that not to cry about her, she told me that she will be in my heart and watching over me. Those were her last words. I dropped down my DS (ended up breaking it) and was crying at her side. I never thought I would lose my mom, and when they disconnected my mom from life support, I went running and hugging my dad and crying. Fast forward to May 25th, 2019, I was graduating. Once this song came on as the Graduation Song, I looked at my family, and I went running to them and cried. I wanted everyone to be there, including my mom. My friends were there to comfort me also. I really miss my mom. Someday mom, I will reunite with you again! Until then, I will try my hardest. I love you mom! -Charles R.I.P Mom 1972-2013 (40 Years Old) *I will meet up with you again someday mom!*

Wow…what a tribute you are to the beautiful woman who was your Mom! Just know she would be so proud of you and what you’ve accomplished. Never let go of these precious memories. My daughters lost their Mom Christmas of 2015. The oldest was a Sr and the youngest an 8th grader. I remind them both of how proud she would be of the beautiful women they are today! Carry on and thrive…Moms would want it that way! Praying God’s peace for your journey!

Because most of today's "popular sh|t is made by no-talent non-musicians regardless of race. This song progresses through 3 different keys before modulating again in the last long chorus. Hall & Oats would have ruined this song with a sh|tty 1979 drum machine synced to an Oberheim bass line, synth pads and typical guitar crap. It would have been long forgotten.

I remember being on a summer holiday, staying in a caravan in a seaside resort in the UK. I was 14, there was another girl, same age as me in the next caravan. She was so beautiful, we waved to each other and spoke once. But I fell i teenage love with her. I woke up one day to wave to her, pulled back the curtains of the caravan and her and her family had left. I was absolutely heartbroken. And in the radio this was playing... I cried for the rest of my holiday. I'm now nearly 60, so if you stayed in a caravan in Weymouth 45 years ago, and some spotty blond haird boy was in the caravan next to you.. Let me know 😂....

My mom just passed away. Earth Wind and Fire was her favorite band. My Dad abused her for a long time and her parents before that and she became addicted to drugs and alcohol as a result. Didn’t really get to know the good parts of her. One of the few memories I have during the good days of her life is standing on her feet as a toddler dancing with her to this song. Grateful for Earth Wind and Fire.

@@KrwiomoczBogurodzicy I saw that coming... I love Coltrane, have nearly all his work but for sheer, jaw dropping brilliance nothing I've heard from him beats Bird on those Dial sessions. I heard Ornithology and time stood still. Coltrane practiced 8 hours a day to get his sound and fluidity, Bird was as good after a day of drinking or guzzling on fried chicken. Bird squandered his gifts, Coltrane didn't, that's the difference.

The Isley Bros.& Maze are almost the same & *Manchild feat. Kenny (Babyface) Esmonds - in the song "Especially For You" sounds incredibly like them. I thought it Was them, I had to look at my album to see who it was. It is a mixed album called: Soul from the cities: vol.2, Chicago. I'm about to look him up for more - see if I like anything else he does. I never/heard of him. I Have heard of Babyface, but it may be someone else. Check it out on Utube, while your here. Enjoy!😃

John Smith Sometimes we learn this just a little late in life and too late to realized just how fragile life is , but as of now my heart tells me everyday is there's something I can do for someone else and what/how can I do my best to bring back their strength to keep moving forward to let go of someone who hurt them specially ace knuckles even now looking for what I am able to do to be a blessing to her because she don't deserve to get hurt ,if you only knew her she is so kind my friend maybe you'll do same way as i do if you see her hurting so deep.

Sometimes you will find that the person you thought loved you was just a liar and a deceiver who is now just hurting you out of her own insecurity. The problem is that people these days feel like talking about their feelings makes them a pussy, but not being brave enough to tell it like it is actually is what makes you the pussy! If 2 people in a relationship can't learn to talk about things and work to make each other happy, then it's not a relationship is it?
