With all of the success Earth Wind and Fire achieved over the years, I must recognize the late Charles Stepney for his leadership and studio production skills.

Probably the most under appreciated and often overlooked EW&F song in their HOF catalog. Maurice Whites genius is on full display, as is his production, arrangement and vocals on this slick, sophisticated track.

I remember been in the army those yrs...1983 Ft Hood Texas....im from Ponce Puerto Rico....62 yrs now..,..always had respect admiration love appreciation for soul music. And 4 soul singers...beautiful Soul Music..i had this cassette with this song..my roommate was a skinny dude Miranda...rip...also from P R....we will sing these song played in my cassette player..he was a gooood gooood singer....i was so... so..him a tenor me a bass...somehow we blend and sang it... dance to it ....shine our boots...had some beers...felt and loved this beautiful soul music....its been 42 yrs ....reminiscing...he passed 7 yrs ago....all that remains is the memories..im 62 now..and the tears😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

The 80's were unrespectful to the disco funk R&B and the story went on and on putting aside great compositions like this. The flame igneted during the 70's was blown away.

This band brings everyone together. I have seen concerts but seeing these geniuses perform and every single person regardless of their color or background can sing all the words back to them has got to be one of the most amazing things to experience. I have only seen televised concerts but you can feel the positive energy through the screen. That is the feeling of happiness they give me even in a recorded version of the songs. Very few bands can do that. KC and the Sunshine Band comes close but no one else is EWF. They are in a class all by themselves.

Most talented most phenomenal musicians in the world you can't find any better than Earth wind & fire. I'm so happy to have grown up in a time where they still were making music that's a blessing within itself

Aaahhh, I am so glad this song popped up just before praying and going to bed tonight. Back in the day I really did enjoy listening to this song. The electronic Xylophone solo in the background grabbed me then. Being a young listener I discovered my instant love for soul and funk music very quickly. Having listened to all the EWF albums they are all special and amazing in their own way but for me Powerlight is an all time favourite of mine!

The Emotions💝 God I miss the girl groups and the guy groups, the harmony , the bands. The lyrical nessages. The love. You hear that steelpan?! Wow. "Side by side, now we can make it." Sigh.

I’m so glad I saw them in concert before he passed. Many years ago, It was supposed to be a double billing with EWF and the great maestro Barry White, but Mr. White had the stroke, so the O’Jays did the show instead. Fantastic show. Rest in eternal paradise, music legends, Barry White and Maurice White. You both left an indelible in the industry. 🎼
