Garen and Ellie make a sink frame for inside the van conversion and Bree solicits her Dads help on a woodworking and epoxy project. Join us this week as we continue our progress! Bree letting your beauty light shine, yeah girl, you get it. I love the desktop, looking down on it, it looks like there are dolphins swimming just below the surface of the water, very cool. Your room definitely has the beach cottage vibe, so calming and peaceful. The outdoor bathing area promises to be wonderful.

I love that laptop stand. Very sturdy, fits perfectly with the desk, and raises the laptop screen high enough to be comfortable. I am surprised that Bree didn't put some customization on the sides, though. Since the desk now has the resin top, maybe the sides of the laptop stand can get some resin to match. Or, some painted beach scenes with grass, striped umbrellas, sails, gulls, a shark fin, maybe Roy Scheider...

@@Dekan83 Thank you. I have lots of talents, but never got much positive encouragement from my family. I hope that I was better at encouraging my son, than my family was with me. At 65 I just don't have the same energy that I used to, but I still love creating things.

Bree, most laptops need to breathe a little. You might either want air vents below, or put some feet at the top so air can circulate under. Just a thought. It looks amazing. Fun projects.

I was just going to say the same thing. Just route out a hole where the heat can be released some. That's why most of your laptop stands you purchase are metal with an open mesh bottom.

That varies a lot from laptop to laptop. Some manufacturers foolishly put vents or intakes on the bottoms of the cases, but most have the vents and intakes on the sides. Bree's stand keeps the laptop elevated and clear around the front, sides, and back, so there's plenty of opportunity for air flow. But your idea isn't bad; adding some holes to the top to allow air to rise from below will only improve circulation. Every little bit helps.

You could make your desk multi-dimensional by adding another layer of sand dollars, shells, fish ... covered with resin. You are so beautiful Bree, inside and out. Chip was a real treat watching him with his toys. What cha doin for the floor in the van? Lookin good. Can hardly wait to see the tub/shower area when done.

For the resin, add the white and blow thru a straw to get the waves and spray. But it turned out great Bree! You make your art projects look easy. Now some driftwood for the walls with macrame or as shelves. It’s a cheery homey room.👏👏 PS Bree you’ve always looked beautiful! Hair up or down. You do you!

Bri, your hair looks really nice down like you've been wearing it. Although the up-do probably feels better in the heat. I love woodworking. Might see if the local highschool or votec school has a class for women, or just a class in general. When I lived in maine, our local lumber company donated the wood for out projects. It was awesome! Your family is so craftsy and not afraid to try new things. That's what I love about your channel, plus your mum and dad are so sweet! God bless your family!

I love the desktop beach and ocean. 🤗 VERY clever - especially the different colors for increasing depth. Didn't get the laptop stand you made until you showed the finished project. Simple solution and you're gaining woodworking skills 😊. Dad teaches Brie to use a PUSH stick/device on the table saw, but Garen continues to ignore shop safety 101. 🙄 "table saws are the MOST dangerous home power tool"

Bree, the colors on the desktop are beautiful. I especially like how the blues and greens accent your whole room. The laptop desk and the little dog toy box are clever additions to a lovely personal space you've created. I would have enjoyed learning to do that with my Dad, too. I'm glad you had the opportunity to share with him. Y'all love and respect each other and it shows so clearly. How could we not watch and be blessed by it?

Next epoxy project... for ideas on how to work the epoxy better, try looking at some of stonecoat countertops videos. They have some awesome and easy ideas and great tips.

Great progress on everything can’t wait see the next project. Bree your so smart to learn your daddy’s woodworking skills. I’d give my eye teeth for some to teach me. You really do look beautiful with your hair down. I too have long hair but it does get hot and I know you live in a hot climate too. Learning updo styles and half updo styles is a lot of fun too. You can leave the back down with the sides pulled up and put in cute braids and all sorts of stuff. Of course you look good in a bun too but it’s so nice to see it different as well:)

For paw handles, this is one time where plywood works better; alternating layers laminated together with glue add strength in both directions

Do a quick search on "toe kick drawers". You might be able to use that space for storing wine, water, pot lids etc. Need to use all spaces you can in a van. From what I can see there might be space for a toe kick drawer just behind the front seat.

Garen and Ellie, Whatever you plan to do to the bottom cabinet part that is right behind the driver's seat, I suggest you do it when the cabinet is OUT of the van because you don't have a lot of room between the seat and the cabinet even if you move the seat forward.

Bree, I suggest you drill holes of long slots in the top of your laptop stand to allow for airflow to help keep the laptop cool.

Not necessary. Think about it. People work with laptops on desks, in an office, all day without issues. When you have them on your lap, you want to cool them do you don’t cook your lap. 🙂

garren..screwing or nailing into end grain is the weakest joint there is a half lap is a better option and there are many others each working better in some situations than others but all are a better choice than affixing into end grain . notching the corners of the uprights to fit the base allows for better screw purchase , another trick for fitting odd shapes is to scribe it hold your stock parallel to where it will be as close as you can cet it set your compass/dividers to the biggest gap then scribe your line on the stock and cut it out it should fit or be really close ....if the underside of the cut is angled you can make it a perfect fit ;]

I love long hair, but when working I put mine up in a ponytail or bun too. Just stays cleaner and nicer that way.
