We test out cement coloring for the stair landing in the earthbag studio as we’d like to know if it will work on our future concrete kitchen countertops. Garen and Ellie acquire a free pool liner and figure out how to make a frame for it. Ben has a great idea for a dress shirt and Shae helps him make it as Shelly harvests some Aloe Vera to use in her new Mouthwash Recipe. Watch all the new happenings. Thanks for Watching!

Noooo! No more tan. Please! My mom was a sun freak, by the age of 40 she looked 60, and continued to look older each year. In my 20’s, I quit the sun stuff, and did not age until I hit 72. Honest, pictures to prove it.

First, That pool set up is EVERYTHING!! Second, Ellie that tan is making me all kinds of jealous, but girl, don't forget the sunscreen! Garret you too. Third, Ben!!! That shirt is so rad. More sewing projects! Fourth, Shelley those aloe plants are so dreamy. Also, I feel like you need to search for PerioBrite on Amazon. Life changing mouthwash, very inexpensive and all natural. Fifth, Bryson are the fish still alive? You guys are so much fun to watch. Inspiring and delightful!

I made a pvc and clear plastic green house cover over my therapy pool. It works great to keep the water from evaporating, and also keeps the pool super clean, since when closed it keeps the rain, dust, bugs and pollen out of the water. (and wind when it starts getting cooler) I attached the clear plastic to the frame using Snap Clamp 1/2 Inch X 4 Inches Wide For 1/2 PVC Pipe White 10 per Bag by Circo

Had problem with wasps on my porch every year. Read that they are very territorial and hanging a crumpled paper bag would make them think my porch was already taken. Worked like a charm! You can also make fake nests from paper mache and hang them wherever you don't want wasps. Bonus: no chemicals

Awesome tip; thanks! I've only had a couple little mud wasp insurrections, easily discouraged by knocking their tiny nests off the stucco (because they were only about 2" x 3"). Then they got painted over when the HOA repainted the exteriors.

Ellie, if the deck is too rough, you should be able to sand it down to make it a bit smoother without losing any non-slip properties. I sail, and my dad used to do this the the deck of my boat, ie: sand and varnish with a sanding down so we didn't graze our knees and bony bits on the feet but still get a grip.

I love watching your talented, inventive family! Every episode is fun, interesting, and I usually learn something. This week I am very impressed that young people are excited about getting a 70 year old sewing machine. That looks like a Singer 201, just like the one my mom had, and which I learned to sew on back in the 1960's when I wanted to make clothes for my dolls, and later for myself. Now I'm a quilter who loves to sew on a 1938 Singer Featherweight. :-)

I use aloe as my facial moisturizer. It helps with any breakouts I might have going on and makes my skin feel great. Best time to deal with a wasp nest is at night, after they've all returned to the nest and are sleeping. Then you spray right into the nest and they don't come out after you.

I use a Daisy Powerline 880 to hunt the wasps that try to set up shop in my yard. Give it 6 good pumps, put 1/16th of a tsp of salt down the barrel, then use it like a shotgun. If you give it a couple more pumps and add a little more salt, you can take out a whole nest if you can get the range right. I taught my wife how to do it. Now she literally springs to her feet and shouts "get the gun!" if you say there's a wasp in the yard. She LOVES to shoot them. :)

Aquaponics systems use fish, hydroponics systems use chemical nutrients added to the water. Usually hydroponic nutrients are made from petroleum products. Wasn't this an aquaponics system?

@@kimjohnston615 It was not about making anyone feel dumb. We all make mistakes being that we are human. It was about clarifying and getting to the correct answer for all of us. I personally have grown in both hydroponic and aquaponic systems but prefer aquaponic systems as they do not use nutrients that are often made from petroleum products but they all have advantages and disadvantages. Sorry if my answer made you feel dumb, that was not my intention.

Shelly- I use straight coconut oil for “mouthwash” and toothpaste. It works great.

Cool shirt Ben!! And an idea for the mouthwash... If you want flavor, you could add peppermint oil, or any of the soda pop flavors they have in the spice aisle. And very cool pool, love the way you guys take a liner and come up with a frame out if your scrap yard.. Can't complain about the cost at all.. Anyway, thanks again for sharing and letting us be a part of your family.

For wasp or bee stings, put ammonia on it as quickly as you can. Use the ammonia without detergents. If you get it on quick, the sting goes away and it prevents swelling. Its not as effective but in a pinch you can use raw onion juice.

I knew a guy who painted the underside of a utility trailer sky blue, to discourage wasps. He said wasps will not nest under light blue and that is why old porches had sky blue ceilings no matter what the house color or how grand or humble the house was. You could paint blue under the eaves.

I love how the cement mixture turned out, very nice. Also I cracked up watching your son/brother run from the wasps after spraying them. 😂😂😂😂😂. The POOL. I envy you all right now although we're having rain in between but it would definitely work for the HOTTTTT days. As usual, I always enjoy your interaction with one another. Can't wait till next week to see what's new. Blessed week to you all.
