I've had this ice machine for about 3 years. These things work great, but, you'll want to keep them clean! In this video I show how I clean my ice maker. This will work for basically any brand.
Icemaker in this video: amzn.to/3MAQalz
Newer model: amzn.to/3oy30ce

Yes press and hold POWER for 5 seconds and it will enter self clean mode. Takes about 20 minutes and yess you might need to rub on some tuff spots but it really washes out the internal parts good.

I have tried this on my machine multiple times. Never worked :( . But, even if it does that, still use vinegar! Pushing water through does not destroy the mold. Add vinegar and run that, scrub as I did in this video. Basically do the same thing I did in this video, but also run the cleaning cycle if your machine will go into it.

I have a Frigidaire that is about 1.5 yrs old. It has started to stop after half a basket of ice. The red light comes on, saying I need to add water. It has water, I've cleaned the fins of dust, blew the hose & both locations where the hose connects. Cleaned with vinegar/water... I watched the water travel through hose into tray... so I know it isn't plugged. Might it be I need a new pump!?

I saw a video on here just tonight where they took the bottom and the side off of the machine and there is a sensor In there and they said to clean that if it stops making the full amount of ice. I don’t believe it was a Frigidaire brand but it’s worth a shot to try to find the video.

I would check your sensors. They are little things near the top on each side. When full, they see ice in the way and stop making I've until the path is cleared. Maybe they are dirty or there is some issue with them. The little screen at the bottom just pulls out. May need a little force. But that shouldn't have anything to do with it stopping making ice.

If I'm going away for more than 2 days, I drain it. If 2 days or less, I often just leave it running. I left mine full once a few years back for a week vacation. And turned off. It got moldy. I admit I added some bleach and it cleaned up nice. I took it outside and sprayed it out a LOT. Then I filled it, ran it, drained it, and repeated that many times, before using again. It was sparking clean again though.

I used vinegar on my GE opal and something happened and it threw a bearing and the motor blew up and shot black oil into the water and ice. They make dedicated ice machine cleaner and descaler you mix with water. I think the vinegar reacted with the chrome or nickel metal in the machine
