Without reading everyone else’s comments, the obvious takeaway from this video is the quote around 3:40 from Jack of Future Music: “To have a closed mind in this is absolutely the stupidest thing you can do, because YOU have to make up your mind about what’s great.” The bonus is that it’s not just appropriate for gear, it’s a great life philosophy! ... great idea for a contest EQD!

Favorite part: when they’re talking about the “close-mindedness” of guitar pedals. So many pedals get snubbed in the world because of the name or the look. And it sucks cause there’s so many great pedals out there in the world.

My favorite part was Juan talking about buying pedals and experimenting with them back in the day while at Future music. It's super relatable to my music journey over the last two years. Everyone says bassists shouldn't use effects and I often get scoffed at at shows when I have a full pedal board but I don't care. Lol Honorable mention for the Grunge shout out. First distortion pedal I ever owned and I fell in love with it. Great pedal for guitar or bass.

I don't know how you guys run one of the best pedal companies out there, but also one of the best studio tour youtube channels. Anyway, I loved seeing people making noise in Juan's studio and having Nick show up unexpectedly. He's got the kind of fun, talented, open minded friends that every musician dreams about having. I loved the sounds Jamie was getting from that Ibanez delay too. I miss when those were dirt cheap - some of my first pedals were from that series.

My favorite part was when Juan and Jack were talking about going in to using pedals with an open mind and not jumping to conclusions beforehand. Favorite part: Pedal shopping, love people getting excited by pedals, and Juan and Jack's approach to pedal shopping, the almost hippie minded way and approach is inspiring and will definitely in print on how I will go about buying pedals. Also pedal in the back pocket, 10/10. And also the jam with Tim Lefebvre and Rachel Eckroth. Dammit, this video has too many good parts. Anyone who says that they only have a single favorite part is lying to themselves, every part of this maddeningly awesome. I don't even care if I win the pedals, this just fucking awesome.

Well my favorite part was when Nick steps in and he's kind of confused but then Juan gives him the pedal and you can clearly see the surprise on his eyeres and a smile coming to his face but he's playing it cool like he's not impressed or whatever. And I've noticed in some pedalsandeffects videos that they have like a subtle Ernie and Bert thing going on, but they clearly have a lot of respect and love for each other, and you can see it on that part. A bit of a let down in this otherwise excellent series - this could've been much, much longer - Juan himself has tons of weird and outlandish gear, the shop also seems quite up there, and, not to mention Cortini who lives musically on another dimension - each segment could have been a video in its own right - what we get is just these snippets, very short clips, not even scratching the surface. Don't get me wrong - great stuff - but this could have been epic. The very short length was a bit of a bummer.
