I'm currently building an ebike because of the way you explain your battery guides and simplify things, once that project is complete I'll move onto other modes of transport. My project list continues to grow even with slow progress. keep up the brilliant guides and tutorials!

I have one of these kits on a 40" longboard and must say that it is great! Really good torque, great range and control with the remote. I was really surprised just how good the quality is and the direct drive to me is the best option, no belts and can use really good wheels and not worry about damaging a hub drive going over gutters.

@@vasbossgaming1779 No, not really flexy so no issue with the battery dragging. I'm still very impressed with the kit and still think that the super simple remote is really good and intuitive when riding.

I'm turning my Revel Drive Kit into a mini microbus camper van and using the 120mm Cloud wheels. I have three videos posted so far regarding the building process and my next video will show me driving it around town. Even though the kit has more than enough power I have a second kit on the way. My second video demos the Revel kit on an 8 foot longboard. I highly recommend it! Big advice for you though: Don't push the kits performance when the battery level is low, or even if the weight load is more than the low battery voltage can handle it could damage the battery cells. Micah that looks way cool but one adventure at a time. I need you to do a video on motor cutoff switches and how to retain your brake/shifter handles while using them. My Voilmart kit came with one cable housing so I removed switch to install in my housing but not made for that. Ending up buying sensored ones from Luna cycle and gluing them to handles

Since it has plenty of power with 2-wheel drive, when you go to 4-wheel you could increase the wheel size to gain both speed and shock absorption.

Awesome, Ive ordered a two wheel drive Revel kit myself, and a Loaded Vanguard deck to mount it to. Should be a sweet set up. I have an Evolve GTR now and its amazing but its very heavy, a lighter board will be nice if you have to walk it into a cafe or carry across a street etc. Only things that concern me is the way the battery, the heaviest component is just hanging out there under the board flapping in the breeze. I thought a couple of little screws to tack the battery cradle to the board might've been good. And the spring in the remote, springs inevitably lose their tension. Well time will tell I guess.... 😊

I kinda need some advice if you can give me some? I have a Onewheel with a dead cell, and I was wondering if I could replace the cell with a fresh one, even if the other cells are probably not at the same voltage anymore? I've been riding it for about almost a year. My plan is to build a higher capacity pack to replace the stock one sometime in the future. For now, I just want to fix it, then later do the upgrade when I wear down the batteries more. I've been watching most of your videos and I plan to buy your book. Until I buy a spot welder, could I solder the new cell in place of the bad one even if the rest of the cells are spot welded? I know it's my plan is janky as heck but if you could let me know, I would extremely appreciate it.

Were you eventually able to tune the trucks to your liking? I have this exact kit loaded into my cart on Revel's site right now, but the truck quality is the one factor holding me back. I haven't been able to find much info on them. Great video, and thanks for your time!

If too much concave you'll just have a gap on the sides so it's more of a visual thing

HELP!! Micah I got a handlebar control switch for my horn (same one you got) lights and signals. They sent no instructions!!? How do I wired then? And do I need a flasher for the signals? I have a 8" led strip that contains the signals, rear/ brake lights.

Question about range... I just watched your Electrek review of this. I was not clear on the range of the 4wd model. If you switch to 2wd and run on one battery until empty and then switch to the other unit for 2wd, what would be the effect on your overall range? Also, can we expect a regen system for steep downhill runs?

Each battery is 4ah or 6ah, that usually means 4-5miles or 6-7miles per charge. (You can ride longer but you'll get voltage sag) Range depends on the type of use, can vary due to higher riding speeds, rider weight and regular hill climbing. Likewise, with the Regen brakes that are standard on all electric skateboards these days, can often give you an extra mile or three. (The larger the battery, the more chance/time you've got to recuperate the energy into your battery) Regen brake failure isn't fun though!

Significantly better from all the reviews I've seen. All wheel drives are usually better at hill climbing.

@@gregholland11 Never had the cloudwheels on 2WD but on 4WD they're awesome. I would assume acceleration is not so good in 2WD but it depends what you re going for. Comfort or speed.

I haven't received mine yet (should be here tomorrow!!) But from what I've found out about it online, the 4WD bundle come with two complete kits. Two remotes, two front trucks etc. So you could set up 2 2WD boards if you wanted to. With regards to the "pushabilty" of the board. A few you tubers have said it's very easy to push if need be. Some have said easier to push than hub motors.

You're fine. I asked revel about this and what you see in the video is an early first gen 4WD unit that they don't sell anymore. Now they just sell 2 complete kits as a bundle.
