careful with heat. My dad had a very similar setup and spent $50 on 3lbs of shiners from a fish hatchery for bait the day before a big fishing trip. The bilge pump heated the water up slowly over night and when they opened the cooler in the morning it was minnow stew.

I have same set up and works great. Just strap it down tight or it will blow out of boat on highway going above 50 mph. Now you have to get a Fitzgerald Mega Bag to carry bass from the boat to the scale.

what’s the best way to switch the pump on and off? did you install a switch or have it running the whole time?

you could install a waterproof in-line switch. I just plug and unplug it when I don't want to run it but the switch would be more convenient.

The tubing could have been short but understandable to add water 💧 could two tubes be used one short and long.

How long will the pump run on a separate battery not hooked up to the boat will it run 10 hrs

Not sure. The battery I run this on also runs all my electronics as well. Tournaments here run 10 hours and I turn off the livewell singer of that time. No issues with the battery dying.

Just connect it directly to a 12v battery. The kit comes wired to connect to any standard 12v battery.

Nice build. I would stay away from 5200 inside anything you want to keep alive. It’s not considered aquarium safe.
