This is amazing! Thank you! I had to sub, it's the right thing to do and it blesses us all. So, I am an old widow lady; I love the LORD! I prayed to know what to do when the old pipe in my chickens coop blew a pin hole in itself during the past snow storm. Anyway, your video was what came up first when I typed in easiest way to fix a iron pipe plumbing and pin hole. So, thank you so much..the statement about having to fix all the iron pipes if you even touch one is true! Thank you, keep making things simple.

I'm not a plumber but do a lot of plumbing as a maintenance worker. My in laws had the same problem about 4 months ago. Tiny crawl space with horrible looking black pipe. I found a leak in my wall today (Easter Sunday) and the old inner tube and hose clamps didn't cut it (go figure), so hopefully tomorrow once my local building supply house is open again I can maybe get my hands on a clampette and solve my issue until I have all the hot lines replaced soon. Galvanized pipe is dimensioned on the inside diameter (ID), other material pipe on the OD. I am guessing, but 3/4 is probably the ID if the galvanized pipe OD is 1.05".

good time to sell them a whole house re-plumb job ;) my favorite tool for galvanized is a sawzall or metal blade circular saw, which of course means replacing that section of pipe and that rarely ends at that section as it keeps breaking at the next fitting or causes a leaks elsewhere. ( apply murphy's law here) last galvanized I repaired had one elbow pin-holed and spraying, which of course ended with replacing around 35' and 7 elbows before I got to ok looking sections, most of the elbows were "visual suspects" as was parts of the pipe. all showing white crusty spots. while I was tempted to use pex, I went back with copper :)

So, I drilled a tiny hole into the galvanized pipe that supplies the commode in my wife's bathroom (she was wanting shelving put up). The pipe is right next to a stud (about a 1/8"). The clamp is too big and plumpers want $thousands to replace the pipe. I tried Flex tape and a hose clamp around the 3/4" pipe but the water pressure pushes through the tiny hole. I finally used JB Weld with a hose clamp. It seems to be holding.

Had a 1 - 1/2" galvanized nipple break off in a tee to a bathroom sink. Tee is exposed, flush with the wall but has corroded the threads. I've prepped it by lighting scoring away some of the rust with a combination of PB blaster, a pick, and very light chiseling. I plan on tapping the threads to fit in a PVC nipple to reconnect the bathroom sink P trap and the rest of the piping. Besides the obvious (convert to PEX/Copper) are there any other ways people suggest on fixing this issue? Thanks again for the great vids!

It's leaking through the ceiling into my garage - I'm gonna try a clampette. Hope one size fits all - and I'll probably have to find a way to get that flexseal off . I can honestly say I've never used one of those in 44 years of plumbing. Why would I? Why would a client pay me to do what they can do? That's a stop gap... at best. Use a metal compression coupling, or two. Part of the problem is the mix of copper and galvanized. A di-electric union is not a fool proof way of eliminating zinc being pulled out of galv. Copper water heater flexes destroy galvanized water systems.
