Just wanted to say thank you for the Roselle Hibiscus that came in yesterday. Old Goat is behind the yellow squash. On a side note the Cue ball squash are showing out and have been filling the freezer and eating fresh. However, I have been fighting the vine borer.

I think there is something you can do about tomato cracking. They crack because the skin loses its elasticity. When it consumes water from a dry garden it will crack. Keeping your garden moist will prevent the skin from losing elasticity. I live in zone 9 Mohave desert. You MUST water during the high noon time daily to avoid the elastic cracking. Keeping your garden wet will avoid this. Probably would work in the south as well.

The old goat is peeking above the squash behind Greg. I ordered those trays awhile ago and they are great. I would use a big tray and soil but did not want to grow such a large tray full for just me so the small trays are great.

Olg goat is in the squash . We eat my home grown first picking of yellow squash to night ,yum ,yum. And my yellow zucchini I got from Hoss Tools is doing great can’t wait to try them .

They are easy to grow. I have had no problems growing microgreens. The real question is how to market and sell them.

Can the hemp mat be stored in the fridge with the microgreens attached so one can cut the greens at one’s convenience and maintain the height and freshness of the tiny greens? Have you been able to plant the sprouted hemp mats outdoors for the tiny greens that can regrow after one cutting, like peas, and use like a cover crop or bare space filler?

-We have only used them inside. The microgreens store well in the fridge for 7 - 14 days if stored properly.

Microgreens are grown in soil; sprouts germinate in water. The leaves and stems of microgreens can be eaten; the “stem” and seed of sprouts can be eaten.

Lack of germination is due to the overuse of pesticides that are killing off bees and other beneficial insect 🐝. Unfortunately this will lead to the need for people to pollinate by hand.
