According to my husband who's the supervisor of a nationwide American home-building company and has worked in remodeling before that, this is actually the industry standard. All the cabinetry people do this. Still is quite smart! And I'm sure those who want to DIY their own renovation will be glad you shared! 😊

If that's not the way most people do it, it obviously should be ;-) Love your practical channel as always!

This is honestly one of the few DIY channels I've seen on social media that doesn't end up with kitchens/bathrooms/what have you looking all helter skelter and botched. I found your page tonight, and after scrolling through so many of your shorts, I'm just so impressed with the work you do and the attention to detail you have! It's awesome and totally inspiring - keep on goin!

Yep, I did that 21 years ago when I redid my kitchen cabinets in my first house

What I don’t get about this hack is what do you do with the hole you drilled for the underneath board? Does this hack only work for when you cover the wall with tiles later? Or do you fill up the drill hole and somehow manage to make the wall as smooth as before?

We’re tiling a backsplash so the holes will be hidden.

Ugh! I hate the gap between the cupboards and the ceiling! There shouldn’t be one, whether you use crown molding or whatever cupboards need to go to the ceiling!

Imagine taking more than a day to hang a few boxes

🤨 It's a DIY channel. And kitchen shelving will need to hold up hundreds of pounds for 10-20 years or more, and need to be perfectly level for aesthetics. Yeah, a contactor can get them done faster than a DIYer, but redoing a kitchen with a contractor literally costs like 25-70k. Even just having them do JUST cabinets would probably cost 10-15k. So, a DIYer finishing it in a day is a good accomplishment imo which saves a lot of money.

@@josiahbaumgartner7643 Maybe you're young enough still to have an excuse, but your immaturity is very evident. And no, you couldn't get this done by yourself in an hour, but it's adorable that your ego is so detached from reality that you think you could.
