THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I did this today for wood beads I’m painting for a Halloween garland. I added a smidge of water to loosen up the paint and it worked incredibly!! I painted over 100 beads in minutes!

THANK YOU AND THANK YOU, ALSO!!!!!!! I was straining my brain on how to paint 200 solid wooden balls. Have not tried it yet, but your idea is awesome and I'm sure it will work for me ...Thank You So Very Much!!!!!!!

Just go back and periodically shake the plate until they are good and dry. I’ve stored my beads on glass jars as decoration and I’ve had no trouble with them sticking!

I put my in a dollar tree bowl with lid and shake them up---much faster! To do a marble effect, have a dixie cup of water, put a few drops of favorite nail polish in water, dip a ball (which is on a screwer) one at a time and bam! My favorite is mixing paint with sand to get a nice effect

Awesome method! Thank you. To get my wool through the beads, I usually paint about an inch of the wool with nail polish and as it's drying I twist the area and it ends up being like a stiff "needle". Wish we had your great discount craft stores in Australia. We pay through the roof for our stuff (if you can find it) or wait weeks if I have to order online. Lucky ducks! :D

Thanks for the tip! I get my beads off Amazon, is the shipping outrageous through them?
@mgenidesigns47313 жыл бұрын
@@Melissa_John3_16 Hi Melissa! Thanks for letting me know where you get yours from. After a bit of price comparison across a bunch of different shops and sites, Amazon shipping is quite ridiculous to Australia so I will have to just keep my eyes open and wait for the Christmas/Boxing Day sales. Hopefully they will be on special :D Be safe and thanks again

Love your idea on how to paint them and wish I knew this before hand. Can you use Waverley paint that comes from Walmart.
@Melissa_John3_163 жыл бұрын
You should be able too! I used both Dixie Belle Chalk paint and acrylic craft paint and both worked!

If you use the beads for jewelry? Does the paint hold up well? Does it rub off on clothes or skin?

What sizes of beads are best for tiered trays?
@Melissa_John3_163 жыл бұрын
I think that will come down to personal preference. For my risers I used 20mm and the third riser (rectangle) fits in my hand. I have a tiered tray and it looks about the same sized beads. Here is a link to my riser blog if you want to check it out. melissapetersondesigns.com/risers/

After they dry do the stick together?
@Melissa_John3_164 жыл бұрын
After the paint it dry, I’ll shake the plate a couple more times just to make sure. Once the paint is cured I haven’t had trouble with them sticking!
@XxglowslyxX3 жыл бұрын
So what should i seal it with if the paint keeps chipping or when it’s with other painted beads, it picks up the other colors ?
@Melissa_John3_163 жыл бұрын
I haven’t had that trouble. I’m sure you could seal them. My favorite is Dixie Belles flat. But I’ve never done that. I just made more using two Dixie Belle colors and it gives them a speckled look. But there paints also has sealer in it too.
@XxglowslyxX3 жыл бұрын
@@Melissa_John3_16 Maybe the paint is better to and they do have paints with sealers ?? I didn’t know, Thank you for the info!

Sweetie, use a BIG eye needle to thread your beads-sooooo much easier and faster than tape!

How do you dry them??
@Melissa_John3_163 жыл бұрын
If you watch the video, I let them dry on the plate. But I go back and keep shaking to keep from sticking until completely dry.

will this work for SQUARE beads
@Melissa_John3_162 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure! Might be a little harder. Maybe instead of a paper plate use a disposable cup with lid and shake? 🤔
@jacquiericard51902 жыл бұрын
Do you se jute or string?
@Melissa_John3_162 жыл бұрын
No I did not! Just gently shook the plate around. This method creates a pretty speckled pattern. If you want more coverage do a second coat!
@montrealstars604 жыл бұрын
For the tassel, I think you should use a cardbord piece instead of wood so that you can slightly bend it so the tassel moves freely. Just my thought
