EA please give us something better. You have all the tools at your disposal and these next gen systems are amazing. The game should look and feel life-like from the booth to the presentation to the ice. Player faces (including generics) should no longer look like BAD cartoons and you should be able to import pics both of faces and logos. Here's another thought...if you want to make people spend their money on HUT (which we all know you do!) then make a game worth luring people in. The NHL franchise is one of the main reasons I'm a 41 year old hockey fan (yup, been playing since '92). But lately, and by lately I mean over the past 10-15 years, I've been unimpressed because we get the same thing over and over. Mini-games such as fighting, boardplay, net battles are all the same since NHL12 for PS3. Remember a young Seven Stamkos on the cover?!! Deking is nice but how often are the crazy dekes performed in a game? You literally chose Zegras' Michigan pass to be the highlight of last year's game when this play has been performed in the NHL ONE TIME over the course of over 100 years...how's that for playing to the exception rather than the rule? The fans and frankly the consumers deserve better and I think you can do it if you want.

@@jonahbanks2950It's true, I recently played NHL17 after playing 23 for a while and it's different, they are similar but they are a bit different. This year seems like it will be the most different game we've had in years. Plus, the slick cover, a full 5 minutes of nothing but gameplay reveals, no flashiness, seems like they are taking this one seriously. I'm excited to see what else is coming this year.

@@jonahbanks2950no. They actually change the game, usually reverting back to the previous year. Nhl 22 had a great mechanic where your player would use his arm to jump/fight around the defense. That was removed very quickly

I kinda liked the old ones from around NHL 07. Snipers, power forwards, etc each had an icon inside the circle so you had an idea what kind of player you were handling at all times.

Jaromir Jagr was in the first NHL Hockey on Sega Genesis that came out in 1991 and he's still an active pro player today. I'm getting old lol. NHL 24 is 30th anniversary of NHL 94 too. Crazy. My favorites were NHL 94, NHL 2004 and 2014 so I'm hoping this keeps the every 10 years going.

NHL 2000 for PC, no kidding, you could import your face using a "Digital Camera." Why is the create a player option in 2023 for state of the art consoles worse than it was before Trevor Zegras was born? This to me is like when people talk about how bad NASA is today when they sent people to the moon in the 60s and 70s but can't today yet the computers they used then were 1000 times less powerful than our cell phones. Come on EA, get it together!

Be a Pro and GM Mode are the only two modes I even play. Be a Pro has gotten so stale it's even worse with the "conversations" you can't even skip.

Yeah, EA technically has an agreement with ESPN. They should definitely include ESPN play by play. Now if they wanted to keep James as a reporter outside of games, that could work since I think he works with the Canucks (correct me if I'm wrong). Or maybe include podcasts like Spittin' Chiclets or SDPN

Things look mostly great guys, only thing im noticing is some of the D men are doing the 23 thing where they skate backwards towards loose pucks, that gets fixed along with that frustrating "blow by AI" as ive labelled it and i think things could be pretty solid this year

NHL 23 was ok. Visually incredible, but nowhere as fun to play as NHL Slapshot. That game had crazy hits, cheesy announcers, great soundtrack, and clear goal replays. Hopefully NHL 24 is more fun 🤞

They look over exaggerated and unrealistic to me, mostly to provoke the “cool” feeling. Which they are, mind. But it’s not even close to what the game needs, nor is it what the fans have been asking for.
