+Augusto Gandía, you are ignorant. To declare the American music industry - and our services in general - as having no 'quality' as fact is such a ridiculous generalization. You preach your opinion as if you know & understand our [U.S.] system. Equal pay? Equal education? Equal status? Sounds like a lot of 'equality' and no individualism. Thus making your comment contradictory. What is Quality without that of which to compare it too? And Can I ask just what the hell do you have to live for, Augusto, if you are just as kept as the next guy? Here's my opinion: + Capitalism works. The U.S. has proved that. + Your much touted 'equal & quality education' fell flat in its promise to its people [assuming you were educated in whatever country you come from]. YOU just proved that. + Socialism goes against the grain of human nature; competitiveness, drive, passion, personality, greed, hunger, emotions, individualism, etc. And lastly, back to the main subject here: Reading your comment, you basically say that 'Pop' music = 'Quality' music; therefore non-existent in the U.S., based on your theory that We, Americans, don't know what quality is. And MAN - does our music industry just barely hang on or what?! What shit we create! Ha!

@@alblfty.rt.minded2679 It should be mentioned the US has restricted capitalism - and for good reason. Unfettered capitalism is far different. I also just want to say I don't think it's fair to say humans are inherently greedy when every society has had (and many still have) strong communal, cooperative aspects. Humanity would not have made it anywhere if each individual only cared about themself like a lone wolf. But we can enjoy good music regardless.

Tired of this music/genre. Same music, same beards. Create something new guys. "I want to be just like my mother, father, brother, sister" WTF? I hope her face expressions means: "OMG, what a crap I'm singing..."

+Daniel Pedersen I actually agree wholeheartedly with him. God how many damn vocalists sound EXACTLY like this cookie cutter bullshit, seriously already! Everyone has a right to have an opinion. It's the DIVERSITY of differing opinions that shape generational interest in what music reaches prominence and what's disposable. You shouldn't ever presume to think only one opinion is productive. Unless you support everyone becoming lifeless followers, sheep and drones. This music is a tired and pretentious hipster movement that refuses to fall into the shitty obscurity it has always belonged in. That's my opinion. You can't tell us all to shut up because our opinions count too.

+Joshua Jones i think you should read again, cause you obviously didn't. i never said his opinion was wrong or not okay. i just adviced him to listen to something else if he didn't like it. There is a big difference. this band is making music, that people may like or not, but I reacted to his comment because it was nothing but a complaint telling the band what they should not play like that, and therefore i told him, he should do it better instead of telling others off. this band has fans, and should be allowed. Those who don't like the genre, have many options elsewhere. That's all im saying. You still have the right to not like this.

This performance had potential that wasn't fully realized: notice how her voice has reverb that sounds muddy, the mic seems to be picking up all kinds of harshness from the room, and the keyboard can drown the vocals at will. There were two bands I've watched from the 2016 Iceland Airwaves shows that appeared to try to mix their own vocals and this was one of them. Kevin Suggs (the sound engineer) did great work in bringing out clear vocals that were natural, balanced in the mix, and had had good articulation (the sounds that make words clear came through) on the bands at this event in general. But I don't think he actually got to mix these vocals--the musician in the back attempted to run them through his own board along with everything else, and the real engineer had nothing to work with. The vocals were already run through a terrible effects chain and lost in the keyboards before they ever got to Kevin, I suspect. A cautionary tale for young bands: Yeah, you don't have the money to have an engineer travel with you, and so you mix your own sound. But be prepared to give it over to someone else and focus on your own performance instead when you get to a serious venue. Note how much better East of My Youth sounds in later performances... I think this was the show where they learned a hard lesson.

Taking a sample and adding a delay to it isn't very complicated, and the notes themselves aren't either. It's probably a coincidence.

+Leo-Paul Cano KEXP has covered Iceland Airwaves extensively for at least a couple of years now. The ratio of Icelandic videos to normal KEXP broadcasts is probably due to a conflict between the large volume of Airwave sets recorded and KEXPs upload schedule.

It's live because they're performing to a audience, and last I checked keyboards and synths were considered instruments, not to mention singing in general is using your voice as a instrument to create music. But, you already know all that, don't you. So ultimately, you're just being a troll.
