Mount Tamalpais, just north of San Francisco is the hight peak in Marin County, at 2543 feet. This is an epic 11 mile climb with a real kicker the last 100 yards. This is the ride for all locals who are looking for vertical.

I'm travelling to San Francisco for work but have a free day on Sunday so I've hired a road bike and will be climbing East Peak - I'm so excited!

My ego was completely destroyed by that final climb to East Peak. But now that you've acknowledged that it's a killer 18% I feel a lot better :D

I have cycled both routes mentioned and I am not a professional. It was taxing, but yes def worth every breath taking view.

Did this ride today. I thought I was tired at the last part, but now it makes sense at 18% gradient.

Greeting Kevin! I just watched your east peak mount tam video. I was hoping you can help me out with some directions. I wasnt sure if it ok to start at Old Mill Park and go up to east peak because in the video you mentioned riding west peak. Just curious if you have another recommendation to start else instead of Old Mill Park
