Ermes got cheated by two older man that speak the same language, i dont know if he even realizes. Just like in WAL years ago against Matt Mask. Devon and the ref worked together to make Ermes believe he has doing wrong in the set up when in reality he was getting cheated and psychologically manipulated to start in a decisive disadvantage. Any person whos old and smart enough can see that.

Sad day for team East....but lot of it comes down to matshmaking exept Sagov vs Hutchings and Larratt vs Gasparini. East vs East fights were best of the night with Dadikyans performances and Laletin and Dzeranov 💪 Also Ivan Matjushenko shoued masterclass way to throu in hook from deadhand(dunno how many of you guys noticed it), that was memorable.

Or do you think Mehdi, who has been inactive for God knows how long, was good to put against active Smith? Only Engin remembers when Ruslan Babajev pulled last time like 10 years ago and they put him against very active rising puller Paul Linn...Litterally nobody with any brains thought it was even fight. Put lighter kategori guy Artur against guy who walks around 95kg at Adam... Sagov vs Huthings and Gasparini vs Larratt were legit comparable east vs west fights, rest of them, not so much. But east vs east fights were all elite level guys and highly active. Well exept Dzeranov wiped floor with Osmanli :D

I've been saying this for the longest time and I'll never stop saying it, because it's true. The reason why armwrestling is first and foremost a combat before it is a strength sport, lies in more than just its name. Yes, of course, strength disparity matters, but as with other combat sports, it is not the sole or even chief deciding factor. So much strategy, technique, and stylistic advantage goes into obtaining victory. It's not as much about being stronger than your opponent as it is being stronger than them specifically where they are weakest and forcing them to go there. Making them fight your fight. Angles matter. Position matters. Knowing when to attack and when to defend matters. You have a referee who determines when the match starts and when it ends. That's a combat sport, folks. And just like in other combat sports like MMA and actual freestyle/Greco-Roman wrestling, styles make fights. Devon is a master of psychological warfare. Ahead of this fight, I knew if there's one area aside from pronation and stamina that Devon certainly has Ermes beat, it's psychology. He was in Ermes's head before they even gripped up. Yes, Levan is stronger than both of them in pure, raw strength, but one thing I found admirable was how he succeeded in not letting Devon get into his head. He was all tunnel vision and knew exactly what he needed to do. Plow through Devon with unrelenting horsepower as quickly as possible and give him no chance to even get into the match.

wrong, its not a combat sport, its still a strenght sport no matter what. if you thought of this as combat and you call it combat you still lose to anyone else who does actual combat sports XD its not combat, its a strenght sport, super simple.

You lost the meaning of what I said in translation. If you understood me clearly, you would notice I said strength definitely matters! It makes a difference! But if you treat armwrestling like other strength sports like strongman, powerlifting, weightlifting, you will definitely lose! I never said someone from other combat sports can just walk into armwrestling and dominate. I meant you have to treat it like a combat sport that it is. You have to have a combat mentality! Because it is combat! Attack! Defend! Strategy! That is all COMBAT! Look at Devon, Denis Cyplenkov, many of them come from combat and martial arts backgrounds. Even Devon himself has referred to it as a combat sport. I never said you don't need to be strong. But strength alone is not enough! For example, Ermes is stronger in the hook than Devon, but Devon has stronger pronation and toproll. You need to think like a combatant to make your opponent fight you where they are weak. That is a combat mentality.

This is the last time I watched eastvswest, if Engin will not change the general length of the event. It is insane to watch arm wrestling for almost 5 hours? It's insane !! It should be max. 5 matches no longer than 2 hours. I can imagine physical and moral condition of Ermes waiting for his match untill 01.00 am. Insane ....different people have different biological time and condition ...some are fit untill 22.00 and then dead - fall asleep. Some not. Are you special? Ermes could have been easily fouled out. Devon only had a good position round 1. Ermes had better starting positions r2-3. R2 he realized he can't win, R3 he gave up. He went back on his words to do 4-5 rounds. He got utterly smoked. Devon's arm is too long, hand is too strong. Ermes embarrassed himself with the crying so much the refs warned him and nearly fouled, even in a refs grip. Holy sh*t the Devon haters truly are stunningly coping.
